Emm Cole is the indie author of the gothic new adult fantasy, THE SHORT LIFE OF SPARROWS. Emm’s introduction to her love of stories started with her grandmother’s many shelves of books. The only rules regarding borrowing a book were if you can read it then you can read it, and returning a book the way you found it. Her writing style reflects the media she adored as a precocious and shy child, who memorized The Wizard of Oz, Anne of Green Gables, Edward Scissorhands, Grease, and The Godfather. You’ll find her fantasy worlds are unapologetically weird and morbidly sinister, sprinkled with glimmers of whimsical beauty and at least one resilient wallflower in the character casting. Found family and women taking up space are themes that always seem to blaze their way into her stories, whether there are elves, witches, or monsters. Emm resides in Montana, with her family, a husky who she is pretty sure is a wolf familiar, a cuddle-grump collie, and a black cat who will neither confirm nor deny Emm’s witchy tendencies. While Emm is still a quiet, goth nerd with a serious exterior, fan-girling over the magic of stories will always bring out the fluffy side of her.
