Dr. Debby Herbenick is the author of six bestselling books, a Provost Professor at the Indiana University School of Public Health, an award-winning sexuality educator and researcher, and a widely read sex columnist. She has appeared on numerous television shows and her work has been highlighted in thousands of newspaper and magazine articles. Dr. Herbenick has published more than 200 scientific articles about sex and is the lead scientist behind the National Surveys of Sexual Health and Behavior, the largest nationally representative studies of sex in America. For more than a decade, Dr. Herbenick wrote and hosted podcasts of the Kinsey Confidential column, a collaboration between the IU School of Public Health and The Kinsey Institute. Debby has a PhD in Health Behavior from IU, a Master's degree in Public Health Education (also from IU) and a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition, she is certified as a Sexuality Educator from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). Dr. Herbenick served as AASECT president from 2016-2018.
Dr. Herbenick is the founder of MySexProfessor, one of the first blogs about sex written by a scientist. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level human sexuality classes and lectures on a wide range of sexuality and relationship topics. In addition, Debby has written regular sex columns for Men's Health magazine, Time Out Chicago magazine, Velocity, Cheeky Chicago, PsychologyToday, WebMD, and she has also written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, Glamour, The Daily Beast, Tonic, and Gizmodo, among others.
