As a wife, parent and professional Cindy Montgomery has written books all relating to autism. One offers advice in a heavily researched book that shows how to strengthen your marriage as you raise your valuable autistic child, another offers friendship advice for all to avoid that sometimes awkward stage when making friends with someone who is autistic, and yet another that teaches autistic children and their parents how to cope with new experiences like going on a plane, going to a dentist, or going skiing. With over seven years of leadership in nonprofit organizations and recent ventures into independent publishing, my career is marked by a commitment to inclusivity and social impact. At the City of Chicago Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities, Children's Home+ Aid Society (now Brightpoint), Ravinia Women's Board, TeachAbility,LLC, Illinois Partners in Policymaking, Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center for Quality Employment (VRTAC-QE) and the UPenn Social Impact Program, and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University, collaboration and strategic fundraising have been cornerstones of my initiatives to improve accessibility for all citizens. Transitioning to self-publishing, I've leveraged these core competencies to author materials that serve to educate and bridge gaps in understanding autism. My work is not just about writing; it's about sparking dialogues and creating resources that empower individuals and families.
