AUNDREA Y. WILCOX, Brenau University MBA, is currently the Senior Business Counselor of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Kingsport Affiliate Office, and Executive Director of the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship (KOSBE) at the Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce, Tenn. She has provided technical assistance to over 1,600 individuals or businesses. As a business coach she has contributed to creating 692 new jobs, raising $11.4 million for local companies, and assisting several clients with applying for minority, veteran, and woman-owned business certifications resulting in these companies achieving certifications and securing new contracts totaling more than $10 million. Aundrea Y. Wilcox is also the author of two books: Startup Savvy: Strategies for Optimizing Small Business Survival & Success--and Superwoman Smarts: Activating Leadership & Substance. She also recently collaborated with 25 consultants affiliated with the U.S. Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program, to help write a new book, The TriStart™ Matrix, which is designed to help entrepreneurs master three critical phases for a successful business start. Aundrea is a John Maxwell Certified Coach, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker, licensed to use the following curriculum and programs: Becoming a Person of Influence; Everyone Communicates, Few Connect; How to Be a REAL Success; Leadership Gold; Put Your Dreams to the Test; and 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth. Working as a professional economic developer, Aundrea established a SBA partnership that expanded technical services for small businesses to the regional level and added $70K to her annual program budget. She also provided expert testimony at a House of Representatives Committee on Small Business hearing in Washington, D.C., and launched an innovative program for existing businesses to provide a systematic approach to operational growth. Aundrea also conducted the first region wide survey for her geographic area of women business owners for which the results were published by the Tennessee Economic Council on Women in their 2010 report, The Economic Impact of Women-Owned Businesses in Tennessee. In addition to being a full-time Certified GrowthWheel Business Advisor™, Aundrea has a long tradition of community service. She currently serves on the Mayor’s One Kingsport Advisory Commission; Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation Advisory Council to Minority Participation; First Tennessee Bank Community Reinvestment Act Advisory Council; Holston Valley Medical Center Board of Directors as Vice-Chairwoman and Co-Chair of the Joint Quality Committee. She is a Board Member of the Holston Business Development Center Small Business Incubator; a Selection Committee Member for the East Tennessee State University Roan Scholars Leadership Program; a past founding member of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Tennessee Regional Entrepreneurial Accelerator; and past Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) Board Examiner. Most recently, she has received the following awards/recognition: 2011 Women of Excellence (Pi Omega Omega Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority); 2011 Caped Crusader (Kingsport Office of Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship); and 2009 Women in Business Champion Award (Tennessee District Office U.S. Small Business Administration). As well, Aundrea is a BOSS Platinum Member and blogger for The BOSS Network, www.thebossnetwork.org, which was recently named by Forbes.com as one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurial Websites for Women, one of 50 Best Websites for Entrepreneurs by Inc. Magazine, and one of the Top 10 Best Career Sites for Women. To expand out of her comfort zone, Aundrea celebrated Super Bowl 50 by jumping out of a perfectly fine airplane at 13,000 feet! And, together with nine other celebrity dancers, she helped raise $100,000 for Dancing with the Tri-Cities Stars, a premier annual charity event benefitting SteppenStone Youth Treatment Services.
