Publisher's summary

Pornography is powerful. Our contemporary culture as been pornified, and it shapes our assumptions about identity, sexuality, the value of women and the nature of relationships. Countless Christian men struggle with the addictive power of porn. But common spiritual approaches of more prayer and accountability groups are often of limited help.

In this book, neuroscientist and researcher William Struthers explains how pornography affects the male brain and what we can do about it. Because we are embodied beings, viewing pornography changes how the brain works, how we form memories and make attachments. By better understanding the biological realities of our sexual development, we can cultivate healthier sexual perspectives and interpersonal relationships. Struthers exposes false assumptions and casts a vision for a redeemed masculinity, showing how our sexual longings can actually propel us toward sanctification and holiness in our bodies.

With insights for both married and single men alike, this book offers hope for freedom from pornography.

Christian & Scientific views worth reading

I would encourage men who engage in porn to read. If you are not a Christian you will gain a lot of insight and knowledge. If you are a Christian I believe this book will share a lot of hope and knowledge about how your brain works and how healthy relationships can be restored. 35 years of porn addiction and I have been inspired to continue in my walk with Christ in freedom and grace!

christian sermon on Pornography

This book is all about Pornography and how the Church feels about it. it isn’t about Intimacy at all. very deceptive title… i wouldn’t have wasted my $ if they had been truthful about the subject matter

A religious treatise

I was expecting the brain science the title suggests, not a religious treatise.
My bad,
you’re a professor at a Protestant college not an actual scientist. No actual peer reviewed research here, just your opinion.
Hard pass.
If the reader just wants to know that porn is bad, I’ll save each one of you $10 right now, listen up: porn will mess you up.
You’re welcome.
