Acerca de esta escucha

Contemporary relationships are in a state of rapid evolution. These changes can and should empower people with the opportunity to develop partnerships based on their own sexualities, understandings, and agreements. This makes it possible to create what Kenneth Haslam, founder of the Kinsey Institute's Polyamory Archive, has called designer relationships. The possibilities are limitless, and thinking about a partnership as something people can craft allows for flexibility and change. Relationships can open and close or have varying degrees and kinds of openness as circumstances demand. In the context of a designer relationship, decisions are made mutually, consciously, and deliberately. Best-selling authors and relationship experts Patricia Johnson and Mark A. Michaels are exemplars of this life choice, and have studied polyamory for over 20 years.

This book is extremely well done. It takes into account many perspectives of how to be open without judgment.

Impressively well written!

I was expecting something a bit more "do's and don'ts," but this book was equally informative in it's stand offish approach if dispelling misinformation and generally advocating a more respectful and understanding treatment of your relationship partner(s)

Not a bad read on conducting better relationships

I bought this on 1 credit, I don't think it's worth 24 for being as short as it is. I think it is worth the listen if you want something concise and broad for considering alternatives to normative-nuclear-sexual-and-emotional-monogamy. I would recommend the Ethical Slut over this if you have a vague idea of polyamory already and want something more thorough.

well written, but overpriced

feels like a great introduction into a brave New world. it was informative without getting to complex into the topic.

loved it!

I found it good but complex language saying what we mostly know but never thought how to put it in words. I found it is written for one doctor explaining to anothet doctor what poly is all about. I think the author could risk giving a little more personal opinion . I enjoyed it but didnt learn as much as I expected. I might be a little demanding that way so consider that when reading the comment

Good for a clinical understanding

The narrator was monotone and boring at times, but it's a good book regardless. Great information for people looking to organize their relationship to how they see fit.

Short and sweet reference for anyone

I loved this book. I found so much I could relate to. A good read for anyone who feels like monogamy on repeat is a living hell.

Read this. Just...read it.

Structured, concepts are clear, relayed using personal stories and reference to data (light but adequate). Helped me understand a world I was resistant to contemplating a year ago when my partner asked for an open relationship. I don't know if it's for me, but at least this book helped me get a basic understanding. Thank you

Enlightening

I like the way the authors describe different relationships as "designer relationships", and this is actually a good umbrella for all relationships that are not what used to be traditional. The authors also delve into thoughts and feelings of partners even if they are not in a designer relationship. They explore relationship power dynamics, insecurity issues, and other matters that exist regardless of the type of relationship.

Perfect description for relationships
