Excellent!

the narrator's voice was very easy to listen to, & while there is a TON of info to parse through here, the content is very positive & affirming. Would recommend to just about anyone needing to work through any intimacy issues either on their own or with a partner!

Dr Faith does it again!

If you're looking for a straight (or LGBTIQA?) shooting expert on the subject of intimacy, start here.

Dr Faith has a remarkably down to earth approach to putting many complex intimacy thwarting behaviors into a perspective that provides a place to start moving towards increased intimacy.

It's a bonus that in doing this, the good Doctor's sense of humor may leave you feeling that you knew the answers all along.

Thanks Doc!

In a relationship or not this book will help

I love this book.
It is everything your parents never discussed with you growing up, that they probably should have.

It was exactly what ii was looking for, it helps you work through personal truma. As well as simple exercise to do, with and without your partner, to develop a closer relationship.

I also loves that she makes it very clear this book should not replace counseling and should more be a way to ease into it.

I definitely think it is a little more geared towards millennials and younger, just because it is an open minded book that does use a lot of swearing and abbreviated words.

Good as an introduction maybe

I thought the content was less like a book and more like a series of Cosmo magazine articles. Each short chapter (and there are tons of them) provides a quick overview of the problem and a question to ask yourself as the solution before skating on to the next thing. It goes wide, not deep.

For some people this would serve as a good introduction to sex and intimacy, especially if you have problems in this area. So I won't discount the value of the content or the knowledge or compitency of the author. She knows her stuff. But...

The biggest downside was an almost desperate, 'over the top' need to sound hip, cool, modern, liberal and contemporary. Some of the language and descriptions of things and people was bordering on childish. Most notably, the use of unprovoked, unnecessarily large quantities of swearing wasn't necessary at all. A couple of profanities is fine to emphasize a point, but they were crowbarred in at every turn.

It's not a bad book. I was just perhaps not the right audience.

Outstanding and Infotainment

Just like her previous books, I've enjoyed this guide to honest and clear conversation about a very challenging topic. I'm going to listen again and again.

A great listen

I downloaded this book first, and kept putting it to the side, picking shorter books from Faith, trying other writers, topics etc.... After getting through her Unf*ck Boundaries, brain, accountability, and many other titles I started this book. All of them have a lot in common, hitting similar points like a hammer and anvil. Some parts were very hard to get though causing tears, panic, depression.... But by the end of each book I felt impowered, that I could make a difference in my own life. This book did that and more. I can't explain in words how much it make me want to open up, and the depth that I want to do better. My main hope/wish is to save a damaged, possibly lost cause of my relationship with my wife and family. To learn to love myself no matter what happens, and move on if needed. Thank you for all your kind, and at times harsh words.
