About this listen

The secret is out... Vampires do exist!

When a video reveals to the world that vampires live among us, it’s up to “young” vamp Gregori Holstein, VP of Marketing, to persuade the U.S. government to declare the video a hoax. But first the president wants a favor, one that requires Gregori to spend forty-eight hours in very close contact with the First Daughter.

Abby Tucker would rather spend her nights in a lab than attend her father’s state dinners. She’s dedicated her life to finding a cure that will save her dying mother and needs only two more ingredients. To find them, she’ll have to venture into the most dangerous region of the world - with a vampire. Her Armani-clad escort may be Undead, but he still makes her heart race. And the greatest danger won’t be the predatory hordes lying in wait for them; it will be her undying desire for the Sexiest Vampire Alive.

Funny

The love at stakes series is one of my favorites, this book has the same funny antics as the rest of the series. The narration is great, I wish they would use a man for the male voices.

Great Story Ruined by Narration

Any additional comments?

As usual, Ms. Sparks’ story is well written and extremely entertaining. It was good to see Gregori’s story, even though he is one of the youngest vampires. It felt like too much time was spent dealing with the buildup of the story. There was more extraneous information and dialogue that didn’t further the plot or was pertinent to the story.
Now for the con: It’s so discouraging when such popular authors are assigned untalented narrators. A person who doesn’t have a talent for accents, should not be assigned a book with so many accents. Poor Roman sounded like he was either about to fall asleep or high on something, which could explain his constant changing accent.

Book is Great - Reader not o much

Would you listen to Sexiest Vampire Alive again? Why?

I'm listening to it for the 3rd time.

What aspect of Aimee Castle’s performance would you have changed?

Consistency in Character's voices. She is constantly changing voices of Characters. Roman goes from a strange accent to a screeching old hag.

Good story,narration was not

Good story, but the narrator used weird voices that were very different from other audiobooks in this series. they were all overdone and extreme.

I love this series!

Would you consider the audio edition of Sexiest Vampire Alive to be better than the print version?

Although not my favorite of the series, I truly enjoy Kerrelyn Spark's vampire world. I love how she ties the characters together as if she's writing about a family. This was my first audiobook and I enjoyed the experience.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Though most of the performance was good, I was disappointed in the way the narrator read the male characters. They came off as oafish, not strong, sexy vampires. This lessened my enjoyment of the book.

The reader is horrendous...

Would you listen to Sexiest Vampire Alive again? Why?

I would NOT listen to Sexiest Vampire Alive again. It was sheer horror getting through it the first time. Kerrelyn Sparks deserves so much better from a reader. The story was great, but the reader was awful. She could probably read a normal story, but one that requires Eastern European accents (Roman sounds like an old woman) and Scottish accents (she ALMOST sounds good occasionally, but not consistently) and Grigori's mother who should be an older Eastern European women but sounds like she's straight out of New Jersey - Aimee Castle is terrible.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Grigori. I've always wanted to read his story.

What didn’t you like about Aimee Castle’s performance?

Yuck! She had good timing and good performance when she was reading an American, but otherwise, she needs to stick to no accents and probably work on her men a bit.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the story but not enough to get around the reader.

Good could be better

I don't like the fact that they have a new narrator for every story because they pronounce the names differently and that is annoying

Totally love the series!

I love all the books stories are funny, sad, exciting, I love the Scottish man!
My only problem with the books are they should’ve stuck with the first reader. Several of the books I can’t stand the readers Voice for the characters. But the story so great that I can get beyond that!
