BROUGHT TOGETHER FINALLY

Reading this Book was AMAZING, hearing this Book made it more INCREDIBLE. Daniel owns the club that caters to a special clientele. Bringing friends together with their special boys or littles makes him feel complete. When he sees Robbie his whole world shifts on its axis. This young man who has never been far from his thoughts is standing right in front of him. JJ HARPER has written this and the other books in this series with total love. LIAM DICOSIMO gave them new life through his narration. His voice giving both characters a different and distinct voice was masterful. JJ Harper chose the perfect narrator in Liam DiCosimo to give these two men a voice. His voice gave them so much more depth and feeling. I absolutely loved this Book in Audible. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AND THE OTHER AUDIBLES IN THIS UNFORGETTABLE SERIES!!!!!

Emotions that fit my own and more.

The jumble of emotions poor Robbie deals with in this are so burned into my own mind and how much I critique myself for all the same thoughts, an mostly my own hyper sensitivity. It had me coming back to the end in the best way possible.

Learning to move forward

After a horrific experience, Robbie is done with all things BDSM.
When he crosses paths with Daniel again, it stirs up feelings he is trying hard to suppress.

From the first time Daniel layed eyes on Robbie, he could not forget him. With this new opportunity presenting itself, he is going to grasp his chance to help Robbie move forward.

A poignant tale at times about a boy who needed the right kind of nurturing in order to reach his full potential and in Daniel maybe Robbie will find everything he was missing and didn't know it, if only he was open to the experience.

This hurt/comfort story is narrated well. Liam did a good job in keeping the different characters easily discernible. I especially liked the way he did Robbie. An enjoyable listen.

Excellent!

JJ Harper is one of my favorite authors and since I never have time to sit and read a book, I look forward to her audiobooks. I enjoyed this one, the characters are likable and past characters from the HeavyLoad series make an appearance. The narrator does a good job of changing up character voices and showing emotion without it being too over the top or underwhelming. Highly recommend!

good listen

I am mixed with this book. I liked the charters. It dealt with some heavy subject matter which is hard to read and breaks your heart. The narrator did a good job with this book. I would have liked to have felt more of a connection to the charters. It felt a little rough in some areas of the audio but all in all, it was a good listen.

Written by a robot

Sometimes the wording of this story seems like it was horribly translated from another language or written by a robot. Loved the story line and characters

Good effort but misses the mark.

I hate leaving negative reviews. I think everyone should give a book and a narrator a good shot, so don't let my opinions discourage you from giving this a try. I've liked some of JJ Harper's other stories very much, but this one just misses the mark for me. I don't feel any actual connection between Daniel and Robbie. It feels like his only goal was to prove that BDSM isn't a bad thing, that he is a nice guy, and to get Robbie "into bed" so to speak. There just isn't any chemistry here.
I'm a big fan of hurt comfort, so I was excited to listen to this one, but the lack of chemistry is just killing it for me.
As for the narrator, again, we all have our preferences, but I feel like Daniel comes off as a robot here. I can't quite explain it. He's trying to do a very Dom voice, but it just feels unnatural. I keep wanting his voice to sound masculine while also natural, and it just isn't there. The narrator does Robbie pretty well though! I think the narrator should keep at it, but remember that masculine and dominant doesn't have to mean no inflection, no life, no soft moments. Even music that is meant to be hard or heavy has soft moments.
