Looking forward to Grip

I’m a big fan of Kennedy Ryan. I thought this book had a little too much “lessons for white girl listeners” (okay, some were helpful), but I still enjoyed it and look forward to Grip.

Good prequel

I love when I can get some back story to something before it starts. Narrators were dope. Did not see the end coming. Going to the next book now.

Amazing Storyline

This only being the second book I've experienced by this Kennedy Ryan, I am pleased to say her books are just that.... An experience! I absolutely love these storylines. Chefs kiss! The only thing I found difficult to move passed in this book was the female narrator's voice of Grip. It was hard to imagine him as a rapper from Compton when she made him sound like a country bumpkin from Alabama. It made me cringe when she so effortlessly said the N word as you would hear a black person say it but nothing else. JD will probably always be one of my favorite male narrators so no complaints there. Overall, the writing was fantastic and I'm excited to read all of her books!

holy jeez!

As always, I am late to the party of epic books. And this was only the prequel... the full length novel still awaits me. Two novels actually. hallelujah! And these narrators are top notch!

Wooooow

I hâte prequels! so for me love this story is saying something!! First narrators. Maxine Mitchell became Bristol. Her voice jarred me at first but quickly forgotten. She acts not reads and on par with Wesleigh . And no male narrator has matched JD!!
Kennedy Ryan is a beast of a writer and as a Logophile, I’m in awe of how she wields her pen. Every character, even minor ones, have layers and serve the story. It’s great to know how these characters fell in love and how the rift occurred so I can better enjoy their path back to each other in the series.

Loved this so much!

I really loved this book. The narrators so an amazing job given there is a lot of rap/spoken work poetry it was seamless. This book so so much deeper than your typical romance and I am so here for it!

A perfect setup

This is quick and fun with enough push to make you immediately jump into the rest of the series. I really liked it. I love the forbidden angst that comes with the brother's best friend trope.

Brilliant mix of love story and social justice iss

Would you consider the audio edition of Flow to be better than the print version?

No, but I did enjoy the audio

What other book might you compare Flow to and why?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've never read a book that compares.

Which character – as performed by Jakobi Diem and Maxine Mitchell – was your favorite?

Grip was my favorite. I love Bristol, but Maxine Mitchell's voice does not fit the voice I had in my head for her. That's not to say she did a poor job. I enjoyed her performance, I just felt that she sounded slightly too "posh" for Bristol, if that makes sense.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The discussions at the restaurant when Grip picks Bristol up from the airport.

Any additional comments?

This book/series is in my top favorite books ever written. I love that Kennedy Ryan is not afraid to touch topics that are difficult to navigate, but she does so with such grace and ease that it adds to the chemistry between the mc's.

Best Audio book I've Ever Read

These narrators were made to read this book. So authentic! I seriously felt like a fly on the wall, watching everything take place. Seriously incredible, sensational.
