About this listen

Equal parts Dexter and Fifty Shades, this is the eagerly awaited follow-up to the daring erotic thriller The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre.

1. Don't leave the apartment.
2. Never let anyone in.
3. Don't kill anyone.

The rules were simple, and I broke them.

Now I must face the consequences.

Everyone else must face me.

Critic reviews

"A.R. Torre's The Girl in 6E lifts the veil on the dark, erotic world of camming, but the book contains so many more surprises than that. At the novel's core, a tender heart beats, and the increasingly suspenseful pages fly by as its deepest secrets are revealed. This is a taut, edgy, thrill ride, powerfully gripping and impossible to turn away from." (David Bell, author of Never Come Back and Cemetery Girl)

"An incredible debut. Gritty, unique, primal, full of angst, oddly feminist, and right up my alley. The Girl in 6E deviates from formulaic romance to deliver something truly special and worthy of praise and attention. A dark soul like me isn't often surprised by controversy or taboo subject matter, but this book delivers and I'll be reading more A.R. Torre books in the future. Kudos!" (CJ Roberts, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of The Dark Duet
"Dark, edgy, and thrilling in a completely unexpected way." (Lisa Renee Jones, New York Times best-selling author of The Inside Out series)

Absolutely Addicted to this series…

It’s just brilliantly written and narrated. Deanna and Jeremy’s love story is one of the new world that we live in.

Much Better Than The First

Porn queen Deanna Morgan's back, on her back, knees, and well... every other body part. It got weirdly dull in the intro to the series which I returned. BUT... a friend insisted I give her another chance... I did and ... okay, she's a sort of hooker that hooks you. Look... this is an adult book. You'll know that REALLY EARLY ON.

And the sex is integral to the story. What can I say, this one works for me, the first didn't. Go figure...

Jorieana Marie, BTW... is smoking hot :-}

Can’t put this down!

Great story! Deanna deepens her relationship with Jeremy, explores some new freedoms all while being stalked by another killer. Thrilling end. Go Deanna!

Weirdly and Disturbingly Wonderful

This is the sequel to The Girl in 6E, which is one of the best books I have read this year. One of the strangest, but one of the best. Do Not Disturb continues the story of Deanna Madden, one of the most bizarre and questionably sane heroines ever to grace the pages of a novel. Honesty, after reading 6E, I never expected there to be sequel. It didn't scream "series". But I am glad the author gave me another chance to spend time with this weirdly amoral but very likable character.

Her somewhat unique career - internet sex cam girl - isn't described quite so clinically in this book. There is more graphic detail than in the first book, which didn't bother me, but might be offensive to others. I actually found it quite fascinating and was impressed (and curious about) by how much research the author had to do about this job.

The premise of this book is - just as Deanna is starting to emerge from her self-imposed isolation and making tentative connections in the real world, she is faced with a really bad guy and her ultimate show down with him allows her to give into her bloodlust. At the end of the first book I doubted if Deanna's fears were justified and if she was as capable of violence as she seemed to believe. By the end of Do Not Disturb, there was no doubt in my mind that she is as scary as she believes herself to be.

The book also fleshes out a couple other characters introduced in the first book. Both her boyfriend and her paid computer hacker are generally good guys, both are in love with her and both see the good and the bad in her. They make Deanna more real and less of a caricature.

This book isn't for everyone, but I still recommend it. It is full of frank and blunt sexual content, but at the same time, it isn't eroticized at all. There is some violence and gore near the end. But it is extremely well written, the plot moves quickly and keeps you interested, there is humor and compassion and Deanna, despite how screwed up she is, is also endearing and likable. Jorjeana Marie, the narrator did an excellent job. I will definitely read the next book about Deanna. I am rooting for her.

Really good

I enjoyed listening to this sequel. I will say that at times it seemed to dragged a bit but I didn't mind too much. At the end I figured that it was not the last book and it was confirmed with the authors comment. With that said, I can't hardly wait for the next book! Give me more..I am ready 😊

Very good

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend the audible to a friend. The story was original, it flowed, I loved all the characters, and the narrator did an amazing job. Very suspenseful. I really had no idea how things would end.

Have you listened to any of Jorjeana Marie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to anything by Jorjeana Marie before, but moving forward I will. She did an excellent job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the bad guy was getting close...

Those scenes I was on the edge of my seat and honestly I wanted to fast forward just to find out how everything would go.

Great sequel

I really love Jeremy and the dynamic he and Deanna share. Mike really grew on me and it was nice to find out more about him.

"What a freaking ride! I loved it!"

If you could sum up Do Not Disturb in three words, what would they be?

Fascinating. Thrilling. Sexy.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Deanna is freaking amazing! She really believes that she has inherited her mother's homicidal tendencies and took every measure to avoid unleashing them on the world. Until Ralph. Until Annie. Until Jeremy. Until Marcus aka Freebird71. They challenged her, and boy does she meet that challenge in a brilliant manner.

Have you listened to any of Jorjeana Marie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, her narration on The Girl in 6E convinced me to dive into the world of sexcaming and discover just how perverted predators like Ralph could be. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to get into the minds of Deanna's clients but Jorjeana's skillful narration sucked me in rather quickly. This performance was just as well done and I will definitely continue the series via audiobook format because of her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, there were several moments, but it would be more than a little spoilery to mention them in detail. Suffice to say that I loved chapters 23, 34 and definitely 117, the closing chapter.

Any additional comments?

Be sure to listen to the author's note at the end. I am so grateful that she made 2 very important revisions. We have Mr. Torre to thank for one of those revisions. So, thank you, Mr. Torre and thank you, A.R. Torre for not breaking my heart while still giving readers a very satisfying second look at Deanna's sexcaming universe and the consequences that rocked her world. I am eagerly anticipating If You Dare (Deanna Madden #3), expected on November 10, 2015.

Book 2 is even better than book 1!

This is a good sequel and I don't find that often. It didn't seem to have as much sex as the first (as much as I remember) and I think liked the story more. I listened to this book and I listen in the car and sometimes wonder who can hear it as I am in a parking lot eating my lunch enjoying a good book. lol

I am definatley going to listen to #3
