About this listen

I'm not supposed to feel this way…

I never wanted to disappear more than while around my family. Briar Lane, the girl only useful for one thing: my surname. A business handshake and pawn to be traded. My father's chess piece shuffled between empires.

That was my life back in L.A., but all it took was finding the dirty secret stuffed in a jacket pocket, and my entire world unraveled.

So, I fled to the one place I knew they could never find me: Crimson Ridge.

Arriving in this snowy, harsh world, I thought I'd be starting over on my own, but it turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. The abandoned mountain cabin I inherited isn't what it seems.

This mountain hides secrets. An ex-pro bull rider consumes this space, and now, my every thought with it... Stôrmand Lane. My father's adopted brother.

We should never have found ourselves isolated out here in the mountains together, each trying to outrun our pasts.

All it took was one misunderstanding, one line almost crossed, and everything changed.

A girl like me isn't supposed to know what those tattooed hands feel like, and I'm certainly not meant to feel butterflies anytime that pair of piercing blue eyes land on mine.

He might be my every fantasy, a cowboy I constantly dream about, but he's a temptation I have to ignore. A man I absolutely cannot find myself attracted to.

Even when he's looking at me with the kind of hunger that can only spell ruin for us both.

Long, dark nights spent in this tiny cabin can't be the excuse to step into forbidden territory.

Or can they?

I thought chasing the wild was great, this is even better! Elliot Rose really knows how to write an incredible cowboy romance.

The actors were fantastic!

⭐️: 5/5

Briar is running from her life in LA to Crimson Ridge. Tired of never choosing herself and being a pawn in her father’s world, she hopes to find some solace in the cabin she was left after her father’s passing. Briar is surprised to not find the cabin empty, but instead inhabited by her estrange Uncle and he is calling it home.

Holy Hot! I cannot get enough of Storm and Briar and they will live rent free in my head. I was 2% and already in love with Stôrmand Lane. I loved their physical chemistry and budding relationship from the start. Between Storm’s dirty mouth to Briar’s sexual awakening, they created a wonderfully steamy storyline. Briar really came into her own as the book progressed and fought the things that had been dimming her light in her past. I love a good taboo romance and this was everything I was hoping for and more. This book pulled me straight into the cowboy era and I am not sure what to do with myself. I loved their characters in the book and desperately regret not reading Chasing the Wild yet. MUST READ!

The actors voices were both incredibly soothing and easy to listen to. I loved the way these characters came to life. The acting was fantastic!

Uncle Storm is here to stay 👀

5⭐/4.5🌶️

oh my god. i thought chasing the wild was somethin, but THIS. now this... was something! I read this book last year when it released but once i heard the audiobook was coming out, i preordered this so fast. Uncle Storm and Briar were so fun to fall in love with, i was so so happy to hear their story all over again!

First off, its a very spicy book full of some very fun taboo things so please keep that in mind before picking this up. BUT if that doesnt bother you, lets dig in.

This book was everything i wanted and then some. There is somehow more spice in this book than chasing the wild, and it threw me in for a loop. I knew there was the free use trope, and i was really curious how that would play out since ive never read a book with that involved. I would even dare say it was the main trope, and a huge focus on the connection our two mc's had.

The obvious taboo nature of their relationship was also a huge factor as expected, and it was mentioned several times. It almost felt like it was mentioned too many times? Like we get it girl, ur banging ur uncle who isnt ur uncle :") but regardless, it didnt have a negative impact on my rating.

The tension that is shown between our two mcs was so steamy from the start you could burn yourself if you arent careful... but once they accepted it BOY did they jump in. Towards the latter half of the story i did feel almost like the smut overtook the plot when it came to our fmcs main issue and through her sped up resolution. I wish we had a bit more time to learn about her relationship with her sister, the ex, and even the parents of the 3rd person involved there. (No spoilers, sorry). We didnt really get to hear any details or developments on that end, and it did feel a bit rushed? The ending was very sweet and satisfying so it made up for it.

Yeeehaw cowboy hotness 🤠 👢

4.5 / 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐️
4.5 / 5 🌶️
Spicy chapters: 1, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 33, 34, 36, 38, Epilogue

Dual POV, first person 🙌🏻

Storm (MMC) and Briar (FMC)

This book is imo the spiciest of the series so far. Uncle Storm has experience, a dirty mouth, and is an unbelievably HOT cowboy 🔥 🥵. The psychical chemistry between the MC's is over the roof! Having said that, the emotional intimacy was somewhat lacking, but the many spicy scenes 🌶 made up for it 😏😏😏.

Regarding the plot, besides the relationship between the MCs, there isn't a lot going on. The story is low stakes, and the third act breakup was completely "meh" 😕.

I appreciate that Leyla and Colt from the previous installment in the series make an appearance, and we can picture them living a happy life together.

Overall, this is the story about a sexy cowboy 🤠 and a much younger, fairly inexperienced FMC who happens to be his niece (they're NOT blood related). If you're in the mood for that, it won't disappoint you.

Happy reading! 📚

A Storm is Brewing

An absolutely STUNNING and spectacular follow up to the Crimson Ridge series starter, Chasing the Wild. This time we are catching up with the elusive Stormand & the newly arrived Briar. This super sexy and emotionally charged story is everything we could possibly want & more. Storm & Briar are an incredible couple and the level of consent & care between them is perfection. Though this is a forbidden relationship, there is nothing actually problematic and the twist within the story makes for a beautiful payoff. I can’t recommend this enough, especially if you loved the first book… This is a worthy follow up.
Amy Hall & Gabriel Spires are just MAGNIFICENT & give all the feelings and heat. They are able to bring this story to life with such amazing nuance & sensitive care to the emotional vulnerability of these characters and we really feel every moment of their journey to be together. BRAVO to Amy & Gabriel!

I need therapy

I absolutely loved this book. Even better than the first in the series. I have no idea why the uncle thing did it for me but it did, again I need therapy. The writing was fantastic as well as the banter. The “why” they love each other really wasn’t there but the tension was amazing.

Two hearts. One soul.

Braving The Storm: An Age Gap, Cowboy Romance is beautifully written and does not shy away from presenting love in its raw and pure forms. Elliott Rose is unafraid to provoke discomfort, and she explores forbidden themes in a manner that is as natural as breathing.

Briar and Storm are not the typical hero and heroine. Their love for each other is unconventional, despite the opposition from the world around them. Two hearts. One soul. Five stars.

Gabriel Spires and Amy Hall's performance is perfection.
