Sarah Reed starts out as a regular fourteen-year-old teenage girl starting her freshman year at Madison Central High School in Richmond, Kentucky. However, things change for her rapidly when she meets a fluffy black male talking cat named Shadow, and it turns out he's actually a very powerful wizard that was placed underneath a very powerful dark curse by an evil sorcerer. Sarah winds up going into a world that she least expected to go into: the world of magic.
