The Sleeping Phoenix

Fractured is Part I of a transformational journey in a large, in-depth, science-fiction fantasy epic series. Zreyas Rittak is second in line to be Emperor of the Janquar Nation. He harbors a weakness for his brother, and he will do anything to ascend to the throne in order to protect him. But his universe crumbles and all his plans are derailed when an anomaly helps the Dark One escape from his once-hidden dimensional prison.

After saving Ayya in their first challenge instated multiverse-wide by the Dark One, Zreyas Rittak and the Visages celebrate their success. Celebrations are short-lived when Zreyas and Rhom find out about some visage deceptions causing a clash of wills. Zreyas strikes out on his own with no means of transportation to Earth, many Universes away with no modern technology, away from what little technology has learned and still doesn’t understand, and on foot, only to find out the Dark One uses the quantum to cheat in the challenge.

After having a literal heart clearing experience, Zreyas decides it’s time to bring Ayya, her mother, and her best friend’s scientific family up to date on what was really happening to the multiverse. In challenge forms, Rhom, Rtu, and Zreyas set up the meeting. The plan seems to go well…until it fragments. They find the Dark One has them in a trap they never dreamed could happen. The Charred swarms in and surrounds them and neutralizes their communication channels. An Earth military official with a vendetta adds to their predicament.
