Just when Robin thought things were settling down a bit in Spellford Cove, she finds herself mired in a murder investigation once more when a customer of hers is poisoned. Then just to make matters worse, a photo of Queen of Tarts cheesecake in front of the body is printed on the front page of the local paper.

Robin is finally settling into Spellford Cove. Business is booming, and as the weather gets colder, her relationship with Hunter seems to be heating up. And she finally gets some answers about her biological father. But when a friend of Elsa's is murdered, Robin decides to get involved. After all, she does have a bit of experience in solving murder cases. As she gets closer to solving the case, however, Robin soon finds herself in the killer's crosshairs. And it turns out maybe her father hasn't quite learned that no means no after all.

Things are flowing smoothly for Robin in Spellford Cove. She’s got a support network she loves, business is going great - she’s even thinking of hiring another employee - and things with Hunter areheating up both literally and figuratively. But when strange things start happening in town, and a number of bodies start showing up, Robin thinks there’s more to it than meets the eye. She smells magic, and she knows that she’s going to have to get involved to get to the bottom of it.

Something strange is going on in Spellford Cove. No one is acting quite as they should, and Robin is starting to think there might be some sort of dark magic involved. And with her new employee she knows to be working for her biological father, Robin puts a plan in place that will hopefully stop him from being able to find her. Will Robin be able to overcome the dark magic at work, or will she find herself a few layers short of a full cake?

Robin’s dreams for a normal life are shattered when Apollo comes to avenge his sister. Realizing that she has to take control of the situation once and for all, Robin comes up with a plan she hopes will stop the gods from coming after her.
