Blackbird is on the hunt for the serial killer known only as The Hangman. The Hangman, meanwhile, has found a new target for the night, a homeless man and his young son, taking refuge in an abandoned building in downtown Capital City. But before Blackbird can attack, the mysterious Paragon intervenes.

Fate has brought them together - according to Red Bear - and now, their fifth member has appeared out of nowhere. He has no memory but thinks he knows where to look for answers. But first, reluctant Agent Jack runs into some trouble with a quick grocery store run, one that leaves him with a choice: let nature take its course, or reveal himself and save a life? The Invasion Agents are just getting started in this ongoing monthly title.

As a building burns and the team is split, Exile is left alone to face off against the two deadliest professionals in Capital City. Can he hold them off long enough for the cavalry to arrive? Can Red Bear and Paragon save the occupants before the building collapses on top of them? Even when Blackbird steps in to offer a hand, will it be too late?

In this fourth issue of the series, Paragon questions the nature and limit of his powers. A new threat appears, attacking the Capital City police station. And the mysterious fifth member of the group begins to ask the important questions about his identity.
