  • Ep: 18 Les Parrott - Behind the Lens before The Beatles
    Apr 24 2025

Les Parrott has had quite the life, behind the camera for 'The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus' and then doing it again for The Beatles, during the creation of 'Let It Be', only parts of his story.

Today, a lecturer in cinematography for the highly regarded, 'Waterloo Studios' in Sydney, Australia, Les remains connected to his craft and the nurturing of talent for new generations.

We had a little time to talk through some of his wonderful reflections, and memories, from that whirlwind period of his life through the final chapters of the 1960's.

Engaging, open, and completely authentic, you're going to enjoy getting to know, Les Parrott.

  • Ep: 17 Talking Music & Beatles with Jeff Slate
    Apr 18 2025

Jeff Slate continues to live his life immersed in Rock N Roll. Never confined solely to his own music through the years, his work as a rock journalist has also been an incredible part of his creative life. His writings including Liner Notes for The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Dylan, just to name a few.

This was a fascinating conversation through his own unique musical journey, beginning in the heart of 1980's New York City, through to his many interactions with his musical heroes along the way. At the core of his inspiration from a young age, those four young men from Liverpool.

Jeff's most recent album, 'Last Day of Summer' (2024) is a genuinely terrific work, start to finish, and well worth discovering, if you are yet to do so.

A link below to Jeff's website can be found also.

I should mention that my little laugh on the intro (in case it seems out of place) is prompted by a fun moment from Jeff to camera. You’ll soon find the video version of this chat across the YCTTM Socials and on the (newly introduced at time of recording) YouTube Channel.

Let's get talking with Jeff Slate.

  • Ep: 16 Robert Rodriguez & Jerry Hammack
    Apr 10 2025

'RIBBONS OF RUST: The Beatles' Recording History In Context: Volume 1 - July 1954 Through January 1963' is an exciting new addition into the world of Beatles Scholarship. This book is what happens when two leading Beatles authors come together, each with a clear (and shared) vision to create something unique that serves to further enrich the incredible story of The Fab Four.

'RIBBONS OF RUST' is a genuinely valuable resource in better appreciating The Beatles as young men, completely of their time. A time more thrilling, more dynamic, than we may have otherwise fully appreciated.

Discover more via the links below.

Now, let's get talking with Robert Rodriguez and Jerry Hammack.

  • Ep: 14 Brett Lyda | Almost Beatles Songs
    Mar 26 2025

Brett Lyda is the driving force of the 'Almost Beatles Songs' project (see links below).

His unearthing of key Beatles musical and lyrical fragments from the once lost Nagra Reels and then realising them as finished, fully realised tracks, is a real gift into the world.

If you are yet to experience the magic of these recordings from Brett and his musical collaborator's, you are in for a real treat. Check the links, tune into the ep, and get to know, Brett Lyda.

  • Ep.12 The Music of Julian Lennon
    Mar 5 2025

Julian Lennon's 1984 debut, 'Valotte', remains one of the truly great introductions of any artist. His body of work since has included some really wonderful music not often spoken of, I've found. So, here is a little look into the albums, the highlights (for me) and a playlist I'd recommend for getting yourself back into newly appreciating the music of Julian Lennon.

  • Ep.11 Beatles Author - Kit O'Toole
    Feb 27 2025

Kit O'Toole is someone I've long listened to across Beatles podcasts such as TALK MORE TALK. Her work also as a Beatles author and music historian is incredibly impressive, so it was something special to have a little time here with her.

A wonderful conversation that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

You'll also find Kit here below, via the link to her website.

    https://www.kitotoole.com/

A little disclaimer...Kit references 'WITH THE BEATLES' during our chat and I found myself getting a little confused with 'THE BEATLES SECOND ALBUM' from Capitol (U.S.), 'but it all works out'. Enjoy the listen!
