He writes stories where the gays will always get their HEA (Happily Ever After), collects books that he promises to read (eventually), and brings tarot cards everywhere because he has absolutely no sense of the future. He prefers the unhurried and easy-going life of turtles. That’s probably why his reading and writing pace is perpetually set to low speed. For the last month of PRIDE 2024, we are bringing back a fun episode we recorded last year for Episode 19 of the Podcast and it features, fantasy writer, Alex Alcasid.

Aside from being a writer, she is also a copywriter, and a cosplayer. Her debut novel, "A Dream of Dragons", is a Y/A Fantasy Sapphic fiction book and hopes to write more in the Fantasy genre and plans to have more Lesbians and LGBTQ representation in her future works.

Today's guest is a comic book author-artist. Simply put, she loves writing about love—between families, friends, or gay girls—both sweet and fraught, as well as the joy of discovering oneself. She always appreciates a story that can make you cry.

She has a BFA in Visual Communication from UP Diliman, and has contributed cover art, interior art, and comic work to over 20 art books and anthologies, including Fortuna Media's TABULA IDEM and Quindrie Press' WHEN I WAS ME. Her first graphic novella, EMMY AND THE SECOND CHANCE, was exhibited as part of ShortBox Comics Fair 2022. She is currently working on a to-be-announced graphic novel, based in a fantasy Philippines.
