Before becoming a full-time children’s book author in 2019, she worked for the Iron County Reporter. As a mom of a child with ADHD and autism, she continues to write fantasy tales with disabled characters and characters with ADHD, anxiety, and autism. Working with young writers is also a huge passion of hers, and she hopes to help inspire a lifelong love for reading and writing with her stories. He practices and teaches law in southeastern Michigan, and has taught history at the University of Detroit Mercy. He was Historical Advisor to the film "Red Metal: The Copper Country Strike of 1913" which aired on PBS. Lehto also appears in "Bonneville 71," a NASCAR production which aired nationally in October, 2016. He has also written "Chrysler's Turbine Car: The Rise and Fall of Detroit's Coolest Creation, "Michigan's Columbus: The Life of Douglass Houghton" and "Death's Door: the Truth Behind Michigan's Largest Mass Murder." These were named Michigan Notable Books by the Library of Michigan in 2007, 2010 and 2011. In 2016, his books "Preston Tucker and His Battle to Build the Car of Tomorrow," and "Dodge Daytona & Plymouth Superbird: Design, Development, Production and Competition" were published. He is a frequent contributor on RoadandTrack.com.

A graduate of Pickford High School and Lake Superior State University, Harrison was named an LSSU Distinguished Alumna and served eight years on the University’s Board of Regents. She was an adjunct instructor of creative writing and advanced creative writing and worked in the public relations department as the University writer and acting department head. Sue has written six novels set in ancient Alaska. Her other novels include Sisu, a National Advanced Readers Book, and The Midwife’s Touch, which was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2023 Society of Midland Authors’ national literary awards adult fiction competition. It was also an Amazon top ten bestseller and named a 2024 Upper Peninsula Notable Book. In 2023, she was inducted into the Upper Peninsula Literary Hall of Fame.
