This week, we're discussing a cult classic, John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). Deric has never seen the movie and it happens to be one of Ryan's all-time favorites. This is a classic horror movie that's full of suspense and paranoia. We'll be discussing the plot, characters, special effects, and more. We'll also be talking about the prequel to the movie, which was released in 2011, also titled The Thing. Today, we discuss the classic PlayStation 2 video game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Released in 2001, this game is a sequel to the popular Metal Gear Solid. This is our first sequel episode, or the first episode where we dove back into a franchise we've already covered. For Ryan it was a first time play through, for Deric it was a return to something familiare, or so we thought. Things get... weird. We talk about what makes a good sequel and how this game almost didn't come out due to its release date coinciding with the aftermath of 9/11.
