Twenty-six religious buildings were attacked, and 10 priests and a seminary student were murdered over the time period. Evangelicals have also faced persecution in Mexico. Authorities forcibly displaced over 150 Christians in Mexico’s Hidalgo state earlier this year. Pablo Vargas, national director of Impulso18, noted, “Religious leaders, especially those who are working with the most marginalized and speaking out against corruption and in favor of human rights and peace, are often identified by organized criminal groups as problems to be silenc

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Christians anticipate Muslim violence on Christmas For more than a decade now, one country alone has produced the majority of the world’s Christian martyrs. In Nigeria, Africa, Muslims have killed 50,000 Christians between 2009 and 2023. During that period, millions were displaced from their homes. Though many people both inside and outside Nigeria have sought to deny or obfuscate the anti-Christian sentiment in these attacks, the religious motivation becomes painfully clear when the violence occurs on Christmas. Last year, a series of lethal Christmas attacks demonstrated that religious motivation. With large-scale massacres having occurred during the previous two Christmases, Samuel said his loved ones in northern Nigeria will be taking safety precautions this Christmas. 2 Timothy 3

Javed Masih, a Catholic vegetable vendor in Punjab province, said that his daughter, Muskaan, worked as a maid in the house of Muhammad Haider. He said that his daughter was in a state of shock when she came out of the house, tears flowing down her cheeks. Masih said, “Upon inquiring, Muskaan told his wife that Haider, [the Muslim employer], had attempted to sexually assault her, taking advantage of being alone in the house. If passed, the region will become the twelfth state in India to have an anti-conversion law. The measure requires people to tell officials if they are converting to another religion, two months in advance! The law also punishes attempts at unlawful conversions, like fraud or force, with up to 10 years in prison. However, such anti-conversion laws are often used to target Christians who are sharing the Gospel. The organization pointed to seven new Christian groups, each with at least 10,000 members added to the list. While the church has grown in Indonesia, the believers’ very presence has led to persecution in the Muslim-majority nation where 87% are Muslim and about 10% Christian. According to Persecution.org, the SETARA Institute recorded 217 incidents where religious freedom was violated in 2023. That’s up from 175 in 2022. Also, in 2023, places of worship were disturbed 65 times in Indonesia. That was up from 16 incidents in 2017. For example, one local province banned a Christmas choir practice for a Catholic
