  • College Football Point system?
    Jan 30 2025
CFP Point system. Because the CFP committee will never allow every group of five champions, or any for that matter into the fold. I propose a point based system for a 12,14, or 16 team playoff. Similar to that of auto racing where drivers are awarded points based on the position they finish. Those points go toward crowning a champion at the end of the season. Here is how it works. Due to the archaic, and subjective nature of Strength of schedules, win/losses, and quality of wins… This point system will do away with the subjective criteria we look at now. The teams with the most points will be awarded a place in the playoffs. The points are as follows. Regular season Wins against unranked opponents 1ptRegular season Wins against top 25 opponents 2 pt Regular season Wins against top ten opponents 3 pts Regular season wins against top five opponents 4 pts Additional points for an away game victory is 1pt Additional points for a win against a rival 1ptConference championship win 8pts Regular season loss against a non ranked opponent -3ptRegular season loss against a top 25 ranked opponent -2ptsRegular season loss against a top ten opponent -1pt Regular season loss against a top five opponent - 0ptAdditional Points deducted for a loss at home -1ptConference championship loss results in +1 point for attending and no loss in points for losing. End of season points, or tie breakers. (points awarded to break ties in the event too many teams qualify for the playoffs). Teams that play out of conference power four teams are rewarded +1 point regardless of outcome. Ie #1 Texas plays Michigan in Ann Arbor, they win. Texas gets +2 for the away win, and +1 for playing a power four team out of conference. Michigan normally would lose -1 but because Texas is ranked and they too played the out of conference power four, they lose no points because they picked up the +1. Teams that start their season with an away game are granted +1 point regardless of outcome. BIG TENTeam Points Conf. • TGL golf league, Is it any good?
    Jan 20 2025

    Key notes:

    Pros:

    • love the mic'd up players, although we are getting interactions more from who we would expect than others. Tiger was rigid in the beginning but loosened up after his team was all but put to bed for sure.
    • The extreme golf courses on the sim. I am glad this isn't the same old stuff in real life. I like the idea of fantasy style courses that are hard to play.
    • The tech is awesome, and the greens are a show stopper.
    • Fans and atmosphere looks very cool

    Cons:

    • The scoring, Match play doesn't work for this. At least so far it hasn't. Both games are blowouts. Should be a stable ford setup or something different.
    • It's not as engaging as it could be. Maybe because the drama has been low. But I think a single announcer and no in field announcers hurts.
    • Courses need to be harder, need to challenge the players more.
