  • On the morning of August 28, 1965, Dr. Juliette Karow, Carl and Carmela Coppolino's family doctor, was awakened by an emergency phone call. Carl, with a tearful voice, reported that his 32-year-old wife had died, apparently from a heart attack. However, suspicions were raised as sudden death at a young age is rarely caused by such. Just 41 days after his wife's death, Carl married Mary Gibson, their neighbor Marjorie Farber, who moved to Florida for Carl, felt betrayed. Filled with rage, Marjorie reported to the police that Carl had strangled her husband to death, and she also learned suspicious details about Carmela's death.
