Sherlock & Co.

By: Goalhanger
  • Summary

  • My name is Dr. John Watson, once of the British Army Northumberland Fusilier Regiment, now a true crime podcaster based in Central London. I don't have much experience in criminology, so this is mostly a record of how I met possibly the most brilliant and bizarre person I have ever (and will ever) know. Join me as I document the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. This podcast is property of Goalhanger Podcasts. Copyright 2023. SHERLOCK AND CO. Based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

YOU MUSTN'T BLAME ME IF YOU DON'T GET ON WITH HIM, Stamford said to me the day I met Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock bloody Holmes. The guy that would go on to be not just the beginning of this podcast, but also the true beginning of my new life... And it is now that I should probably say the same to you, you mustn't blame me if you don't get on with Sherlock. He is peculiar - by neurotypical standards at least - but he is compelling. Like seemingly every media platform in the world I am asking for one thing; your attention. Just for a half hour a week. Maybe sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less but I'll try and keep it consistent. I know, I know, podcasts should be people in a room chatting. That seems to be the law of the medium.. But if you could find it in your weekly schedule to join me and my companion on these adventures - I can promise you. It won't disappoint. • Mr. Sherlock Holmes
    Oct 10 2023
I was blown up while serving as an Assistant Surgeon in a foreign legion unit. It was just a few miles north of the Antonovsky bridge in Kherson, Ukraine. I returned to London a few months later as my role in the conflict had come to an end. I had planned on documenting what life is like for veterans in the UK as a podcast. I was going to break down what it truly means to be a soldier, speak to those that had served, those that had suffered and triumphed in warfare. I had planned to record long-form interviews and even chart the course of various conflicts... But then I bumped into an old friend mid-record and he introduced me to Mr. Sherlock Holmes. Then everything changed. Listener discretion is advised. This podcast is property of Goalhanger Podcasts. Copyright 2023. ------- SHERLOCK AND CO. • The Illustrious Client - Part One
    Oct 10 2023
THE EDELWEISS MURDER - My companion seemed to resolve the small matter of a murder in Brixton pretty much overnight. The following day I met him - by chance - at our local pub; The Volunteer. It was during a brief bathroom break that we stumbled across our very first case. A case that would lead us to a very dangerous man, an extremely wealthy client and hopefully an influx of listeners. Great modern retelling!

This is arguably the best modern retelling of the classic Sherlock Holmes stories I've ever encountered (even the BBC show, though I also love that). I dearly love this podcast and look forward to new episodes every week!

Whitty, decisive and an all around good time

What can I say? The writing is incredible, the voice actors go for gold every time and I'm laughing out loud at my desk. If you watched BBC's Sherlock and found yourself wanting more of that dynamic, look no further. Watson is charmingly awkward but provides insights of his own into the cases while Sherlock remains delightfully neuro-divergent, and both too clever and yet not clever enough to do it on his own. Ms. Hudson is an incredible bookend to the trio, bringing along a hilarious yet reasonable perspective to the two chaotic idiots she works for. 10/10, will keep listening.
