In late 2023, the Trusted Framework and Common Agreement, more commonly known as TEFCA – was established as a nationwide policy and technology framework for health information sharing. TEFCA was created by the US Health and Human Services Agency to remove barriers to information sharing among providers, patients, public health agencies, health information networks, payers and pharmacies. The goals are to improve the flow of data to improve patient care, public health, benefits determination, utilization review, quality assessment and improvement, and more.

In all 50 states and the District of Columbia, school-based health centers provide primary and preventive care for children who would otherwise lack access to that care. In New York State, IPRO works under contract with the Department of Health to monitor school-based Health Centers across the state.
