  • Possession Trailer
    Aug 31 2023
Brandon and Justine have just moved into their new house, an idyllic Craftsman bungalow in a picture-perfect enclave of East Los Angeles. Brandon has a new dream-job in gaming, Justine is pregnant with their first child, and those cold Philly winters are behind them. Seemingly everything is perfect…

…Except what lies beneath the house could destroy it all.

As Brandon (Lamorne Morris) and Justine (Kylie Bunbury) try their best to fit in and make their new home work, jarring disturbances coming from the walls, awful phony neighbors, and an always-around homeless man named Manny (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), bring up old and new traumas for the couple while pushing their marriage and future plans to a breaking point.

When what’s beneath the floorboards is revealed and the picturesque façade of suburban life is stripped bare, the cracks in the foundation can’t be ignored. Possession takes audiences on a harrowing journey into the dark realities of middle-class life, prejudice, and a system rigged.

Is this real - so scary!! I think Brandon is better than where I think the writing was taking him in the end.

Didn’t expect the Plot Twist!

I very much enjoyed the story- it gave me all the feels! Well, mainly fear which then turned to outrage. Loved that it had “Get Out” vibes. The voice acting was excellent. Also loved that it touched on various societal issues, many of which resonated with me having experienced them personally. My only complaint is that the ending didn’t feel complete. I would like to know how the issue b/w the 2 male characters was resolved - if at all.

A lot of build up with little resolve

It felt like the writers dropped the ball on the ending and left so many unanswered questions. The main being who retained possession?!

The characters were nicely acted and at times infuriating; however, that it kudos to their acting chops. There should have been an episode to finish hearing about the aftermath of the party and exposure. The wrap up felt lazy.

Great twist and social commentary

Really thought this was going somewhere else when I started it. Such an upsetting situation. I am not much of a binger due to time constraints. Thankfully started listening to this on a long drive. I wouldn’t have been able to stop listening.

Good story, scary premise but seemed to end without real resolution.

Was not the subject I was expecting, but kept my interest regardless. I would have preferred that there had been a more definitive wrap up.
