  • Dino Crisis 2 - Silent Evil 4 - A Survival Horror Podcast
    Feb 17 2025

Welcome back to the Silent Evil Podcast, where we dissect the classics (and sometimes the most forgotten) games in survival horror! In this episode, we’re taking a deep dive into Dino Crisis 2, Capcom’s high-octane sequel that traded the slow, tension-filled horror of the original for explosive, arcade-style action. This has been one of Spencer's all time favorite games that he returns to over and over throughout the years, while it's a first time play for Cameron.

Released in 2000 for the PlayStation, Dino Crisis 2 took a bold risk by shifting gears from survival horror to full-on dinosaur warfare. Giving a Lost World Jurassic Park Site B Vibe to the whole island. But over 20 years later, does this departure from its predecessor still hold up? Did Capcom make the right call by leaning into the action? Is DC2 a testing ground for Resident Evil 4 and 5? And more importantly—could we ever see a Dino Crisis revival using modern technology, such as the RE Engine?

    In this episode, we discuss:

🦖 How Dino Crisis 2 compares to its survival horror roots

🔫 The shift from horror to fast-paced combat – was it for the better?

📜 The time-traveling, sci-fi-heavy plot and how it shaped the franchise’s fate

🎮 The game’s mechanics, controls, and overall feel in 2025

🔥 Could Capcom remake or reboot Dino Crisis? How would it work in today's gaming landscape?

🚀 What about that cliffhanger ending and then Dino Crisis 3 in space???

Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering this cult classic for the first time, we’re diving into everything that makes Dino Crisis 2 a unique (and underappreciated) gem in Capcom’s history.

So grab your hemostats, reload your SMGs, and prepare to fight off hordes of bloodthirsty raptors—this is Dino Crisis 2, a modern review with the newly released GOG PC Version!

    Dino Crisis 2 – Overview

Dino Crisis 2 is the 2000 sequel to Capcom’s original Dino Crisis, shifting away from its survival horror roots and embracing fast-paced, action-oriented gameplay. Unlike its predecessor, which leaned heavily on Resident Evil-style tension and resource management, Dino Crisis 2 turns the intensity up with faster combat, more enemies, and an emphasis on high scores and combo kills.

    Story Summary

Set a year after the events of Dino Crisis, the game follows special agents Regina (returning from the first game) and newcomer Dylan Morton as they are sent on a mission to a research facility that mysteriously vanished—along with an entire town—due to a catastrophic time-traveling experiment. The facility is now overrun with dinosaurs, and the team must uncover what happened, rescue any survivors, and find a way back home. However, the deeper they investigate, the more they unravel the shocking truth about the experiment and its consequences.

  • Captain America: Brave New World - Movie Review | Old Man Orange Podcast 629
    Feb 9 2025

In this episode of the Old Man Orange Podcast, we dive into the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with our review of Captain America: Brave New World! Join us as we break down the action, characters, and the impact of this new chapter in the Cap saga. From the evolution of Sam Wilson The Falcon as Captain America to the interesting plot choices and where it also could have gone too. The film is defiantly worth the watch and one of the better Marvel MCU films of the last era. Seeing Harrison Ford, Red Hulk out is something special all in itself.

There could have been about one more Hulk character in here or so, as in Bruce Banner or even Betty Ross Red She Hulk for a fun family feud. But it's good nonetheless to see Anthony Mackie get a starring role Marvel motion picture after all these years and he really does deliver the goods. We cover it all and give our thoughts on where the MCU is headed next with Fantastic 4, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Daredevil, Punisher, Secret Wars, Avengers, and the Thunderbolts!

  • Resident Evil 5 - Silent Evil 3 - A Survival Horror Podcast
    Jan 31 2025

Resident Evil 5 – The Ultimate Co-Op Survival Horror Experience? 🎮🔥 Resident Evil 5 marked a major turning point in the survival horror franchise! Some fans say it strayed too far from the classic formula of Resident Evil 0, Code Veronica, and even RE4, while others argue it delivers an action-packed horror adventure like no other. But one thing’s for sure—it’s a blast to play, especially in co-op! Back when couch co-op, split-screen, and LAN gaming were still alive and well, RE5 stood alongside legendary two-player experiences like Gears of War, Halo, Army of Two, Resistance, and Left 4 Dead. While its action-heavy approach may have been influenced by these games, the intense combat, thrilling boss fights, and endless replayability make RE5 one of the most fun entries in the series. 💀 Returning Resident Evil legends: Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Albert Wesker. 🔥 New fan-favorite: Sheva Alomar (seriously, Capcom, bring her back!). 🎯 Endless content: Unlockables, DLC storylines, and the best Mercenaries Mode ever! In this episode, Cameron takes his first shot at RE5, while Spencer returns after playing since the midnight launch in 2009! We tackled the PC version in co-op, relived the thrills, and broke down how RE5 fits into the larger Resident Evil universe. LIKE & SUBSCRIBE if you love Resident Evil and co-op gaming! 🧟‍♂️🔫 📝 Drop a comment: Where does RE5 rank in your Resident Evil tier list?
