Midwest Murder

By: Jonah Lantto & Dawn Palumbo with the Good Talk Network
  • Summary

  • We’ve all heard the phrase ‘that kind of thing doesn’t happen in our town’, but here on Midwest Murder, we will shatter that false reality. In fact, it happens more often than we know, and sometimes the details of the most horrific crimes that happen in our neighborhoods are lost in the back pages of newspapers, forgotten on our news channels, and eventually erased over time.

mind blown

Dawn and Jonah were born to make this show. Their chemistry is amazing. I would listen to them if they were reading a recipe , but boy, am I glad it's a true crime podcast. They are funny, North Dakota down to earth. I have tried to get live tickets forever, but they sell out in minutes. Keep doing what you're doing! I can tell they love what they do, and they do it damn well! Thank you!!

Amazing !!!

As a self titled "Serial Killer" junkie, I have seen/heard lots of info on the subject(s). This podcast series is PHENOMENAL!! I love the way the stories are told with enough background/info so you can follow and are "dug in".... but limited to just the right amount as to not bore you or suffocate you with information. All in all, outstanding and highly recommend!!

Listened to all 77 episodes in the last 4 days!

Growing on a from near Minot, attending Minot State and UND, I love listening to (Murder) Stories about ND and the surrounding states. I am a true crime junkie and listen to a lot of murder and true crime podcasts. I would add Midwest Murder to the top 5 or 6that I listen to. These podcasts are very well researched and preformed. I can tell they hosts put a lot of time and work into each podcast they deliver.

Dawn – i do want to mention that not everyone who murders has mental issues – some people are just plain Evil!

Thanks Jonah & Dawn – keep up the great work. looking forward to many, many more!

One of My Top True Crime Podcasts

I'd pretty much quit most true crime podcasts when I did a search for Midwest podcasts & found this one. I LOVE Dawn's voice and diction! I also adore her corrections of Jonah, which are always exactly what I'm thinking at the time.
Love this show!

Wow!

My daughter knows Jonah and loves this podcast so she recommended it to me. And all I can say is I’m on to episode #2 right now. Well done! I was hooked and did not realize how fast 75 minutes can go..... thanks....

Great podcast

I listen to a lot of different podcasts, and this is one of the best. I really like how well they can take the listener back to the year the crime occurred. I also like that the person who isn't reading has no idea what the story is about. The banter between Dawn and Jonah keeps the topic from being too dark. I usually laugh out loud at least once per show. Keep up the good work!

Binged all 28 episodes in 3 days

I'm from Minot and had no idea about all the crazy things that have happened so close to home. You two are very easy to listen to. I hope you're friends in real life. Episode 23 was a door, that one was hard to listen to, it had my blood boiling. I really enjoy how you present all the facts but still have onions like any human would. thanks for the house cleaning entertainment

Top Podcasters in my book!

I have loved all of your reviews. J do prefer it when you do the 1s that haven't been done to death, pun intended! I hope that when I am murdered you guys do a podcast about it!!! it will totally be worth it then!! My only constructive criticism would be to make the "when this happened" intro a bit shorter....it gets a bit much sometimes.

North Dakota Nice

Listening to stories with familiarity of location is fun. The hosts are engaging, enjoying, and fun. Their story telling is thorough, well researched, and great content. This feels like sitting down with two best friends to hear the news.

So Interesting!

Dawn and Jonah brings the crime to you. My biggest complaint is the hour goes by too fast!
