From wild horses to wild times, this week's episode takes a trip to Maryland's Eastern Shore! We're talking Assateague Island, Salisbury's growth spurt, and the not well-known, but surprisingly real, Battle of the Pocomoke. Plus, Super Bowl chatter, the Kendrick/Drake feud, and a bad word from Pete (sorry Mom!). The gang also visits Terrapin Beach Park, the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, and The Chesapeake Beach Club. Also, a Saturday drive becomes an opportunity to revel in the colonial beauty of Chestertown and Centreville, and Pete unveils the design for the new Francis Scott Key Bridge. Along the way, the gang talks imaginary band names, old high school nicknames, and they meet a cast of Maryland characters including Kent and Tilda Narrows, Tony Clifton Park, and Lexington Marcus (thanks Conor!).

In this special episode, the gang sits down for an in-depth conversation with Maryland native and entrepreneur, Ali von Paris.

Founder of Route One Apparel at the age of 19, Ali shares her story, the thread of innovation that has woven its way through generations of her family, and the importance of people and vision in creating and sustaining a business. We talk about Maryland, its history, our beautiful flag, and the palpable pride that infuses the state. Ali shares with us what's next for "The Funvernor," why Baltimore should be an alt music hub (hat-tip to All Time Low), her love for The Maryland Center for History and Culture, creating "community through clothing," and what the future holds for the Chief Visionary Officer of Maryland Brand Management.

This is a unique Maryland story of one person's vision, determination, and how through triumph and challenges a legacy has been forged.

Dave Portnoy destroys Wawa pizza in Glen Burnie (is it really better than Costco pizza?). Baltimore Restaurant Week is coming! John shares exciting info about a new possible state park in Baltimore and why this is so important. Megan seems to be bored by John's baby pics. Pete is a true friend. Birthday wishes to Pete as the gang sits down with Barry Hess and Wendy Hess, Broker and CEO, respectively, of Keller Williams Flagship. They discuss their beginnings in Aisle 5, and why they do what they do. Barry and Wendy share the importance of service, the legacy that they've built, and the paramount role of family and friendship in their success. Plus, it just wouldn't be a "Maryland Living" podcast without a few good laughs in the mix!
Our favorite local band, Mallow Hill, is having their album release party on January 25th at Heavy Seas Brewery in Halethorpe. Get your tickets HERE. The gang will be there and hope to see you there, too!
The podcast is now global, and Megan, Pete, and John are over the moon about that!
