  • Episode 67: Ditching Christian Nationalism to Find Jesus with April Ajoy
    Feb 14 2025

April Ajoy is a content creator and podcast host who uses humor to shine a light on harmful, toxic, and sometimes just weird traits of American Evangelicalism. After growing up an evangelist’s kid entrenched in Christian Nationalism and working in conservative Christian media, she saw the harm caused firsthand. Still a Christian, she uses her platform to expose the dangers of Christian Nationalism while promoting a more inclusive faith. April has been featured on Buzzfeed, CNN, Newsweek and more. She’s been married to Beecher for 10 years and they have two daughters together.

  • Episode 63: The Naked Truth of Deconstruction with David Hayward
    Dec 14 2024

Join me in welcoming David Hayward to the podcast!

David Hayward is a pastor turned artist who paints, draws, and reflects on what it takes to be free to be yourself. You have probably seen him on Instagram under his Instagram handle, “The Naked Pastor”.

And in case you’re wondering, he’s not actually naked. The idea behind the name, NakedPastor, is to tell the naked truth—no matter how vulnerable it feels. Once a pastor, he’s been creating art and working toward freedom alongside this community for over 10 years.

David joined me from his home in New Brunswick, Canada via zoom to record this conversation.

  • Episode 60: The World of OUIJA! With John Kozick
    Oct 31 2024

Episode 60: The World of Ouija! With John Kozick

John Kozik’s obsession with collecting and researching Ouija began when he inherited his grandmother’s board in the late 1990’s. He was surprised to discover that Ouija was simply one specific brand of Talking Board, and that they date much further back than the Ouija of Parker Brothers fame. Through years of dedication John is now one of the most knowledgeable people on the subject. In 2013 he became a founding member of the Talking Board Historical Society, a group that researches and preserves the history of Talking Boards. Fast forward to 2019 - John opened the doors of The Salem Witch Board Museum to the public. It is the only museum dedicated to the history and lore of the Talking Board, boasting the largest collection of boards, obscure memorabilia, and ephemera under one roof. In May of 2024 he realized one roof was not big enough for Ouija’s rich history, so he opened a second location,Witch Board Museum Baltimore. Whether you believe it’s the tool of the Devil or just an innocent kid’s game, a visit to the museums will allow you to learn more about this fascinating and iconic piece of Americana.
