This is Talk about music and in this latest episode Steve talks to Leiyah one of his former students.

Leiyah has a fantastic voice and has written some great songs. They discuss her time at BRIT school, her new management and recent interest from record companies. She tells us about growing up listening to old songs and being taught piano and guitar by her uncle who was an original member of Bob Marley & The Wailers.
She talks about her ambitions and plans for the future and plays some of her new songs. We also hear her singing a brilliant a cappella cover of an Oasis classic!

Steve Sahl-Taylor has nearly 40 years experience as a musician, singer and songwriter. He started singing in bands in South Wales when he was 16 before taking long term residencies in Spain and Croatia. On returning to the UK he moved to Devon in South West England. Here he started writing songs for his first album. The album Hello World was signed to US label ACM Records and was released in 2006.

He continued touring throughout Europe with 12 tours to Scandinavia and many gigs in London and South East England.

He still writes songs, does the occasional gig and is a music teacher. He is based in London.
