Overcoming in Our Daily Lives
There are things that crop up in our lives that we need to conquer or overcome. Things in our natural life and things in our spiritual life.

Here are some examples of both. We may want to get victory in overcoming an addiction such as drugs, alcohol, or food. We may also have internal things we want to conquer such as fear, judging others and unforgiveness.

The more we enter into union with God, we see everything in our lives as a teaching experience that turns our thoughts toward him.

Overcome - to subdue (literally or figuratively): —conquer, overcome, prevail, get the victory. What are we overcoming in our lives? Victory over our enemies.

What and who are our enemies? Anything that draws us away from the way the truth and the life, in other words, anything that causes us to step away from the Lord.

If we want to become overcomers, we first have to have something to overcome. It begins with changing our way of thinking and overcoming the old mindset.

An overcomer is one who recognizes the Truth of his being and is renewing his mind and body and affairs by changing his thoughts from the old mortal beliefs to the new as he sees them in the Christ Mind.

Simply put, God is the overcomer, we can do nothing of ourselves. He puts in our minds and gives us the confidence that we can overcome, then he gives us the wisdom to show us how to overcome and lastly he gives us the strength to be able to overcome.

How to Activate God's Power
God empowers us with his power, not some power that we try to create on our own. God has given us his authority. Authority and power are the same.
Think about this, is there any power other that comes from God? Isn’t he the creator and source of all power and authority?
Rom 13:1

Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
If we want hope, joy and peace, we must tap into the power of the Holy Spirit. The things we do without the power, simply fade away after a time. We think that buying a new car, house, clothes or some exotic vacation will give us what we need to be happy, when all along our happiness and fulfillment comes from him and he gives it freely. If our priorities are in the right place, we will be thankful for all the blessings he gives us and enjoy all that he does for us.
Let’s break God’s power into one word, love. There is no greater power than love. God is love and that is all that he is. That love covers a multitude of sins.

1Peter 4:8

Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others].

1Co 2:5

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

The Greatest Reward in the Kingdom

When we first think of rewards, we automatically think of getting paid for the work we have done. That God is going to reward those that worked the hardest for the kingdom. The harder we work the greater the reward. The Bible talks about sewing and reaping. If we sew good seed then we will reap a harvest. Though that is true, I believe that that perception can get too earthly in our thinking. It is not just talking about money and earthly possessions; it’s about something much more important. God wants to change and conform us into his image and likeness, which was his plan from the beginning. Today we are going to take a more spiritual look at the greatest reward of the kingdom.
The greatest reward is having Christ formed in us. The more Christ is formed in us the more love we will realize we have become, which means our life becomes more fruitful and exciting, because we are not trying to do it all ourselves.
