• Bringing Ben Home: A Wrongful Murder Conviction, A Judicial Exoneration but Continued Incarceration?
    Feb 14 2025

Author Barbara Bradley Hagerty has written a riveting and important new book about the wrongful murder conviction of a man named Ben Spencer. Ben's experience in the criminal justice system and his decades-long struggle for justice expose the desperate need for criminal justice reform.

In her book, "Brining Ben Home: A Murder, a Conviction, and the Fight to Redeem American Justice", Barbara tells Ben's story, shining the harsh light of truth on a system that often seems more intent on closing cases and winning convictions than complying with the legal and constitutional rights of defendants.

I had the privilege of providing a blurb for "Bringing Ben Home":

"As someone who spent three decades as a trial court prosecutor, I was horrified by the casual callousness that led to many of the wrongful convictions detailed in this important, beautiful, and infuriating work."

  • Federal Judge Rules Trump Administration is VIOLATING COURT ORDER!
    Feb 12 2025
A federal judge has ruled that the Trump administration is violating a restraining order the judge issued previously requiring the administration to lift the freeze on billions of dollars in federal grants.Attorneys General from 22 states brought suit against the Trump administration asking the court to order Trump to lift the freeze on federal funds that had been allocated to the states. Judge John J. McConnell, Jr., found in favor of the states, ruling that the "sweeping freeze of federal funds is . . . likely unconstitutional and has caused and continues to case irreparable harm to a vast portion of this country."However, the Trump administration failed to comply with the original court order. So the states filed a Motion for Enforcement of the Temporary Restraining Order. In granting the states' motion, Judge Jackson wrote:"It is a basic proposition that all orders and judgments of courts must be complied with promptly . . . Persons who make private determinations of the law and refuse to obey an order generally risk criminal contempt even if the order is ultimately ruled incorrect."However, the judge stopped short of holding the Trump administration in contempt, rather ordering them to comply.Trump seems determined to plunge our nation into a constitutional crisis. • Trump Fires Jack Smith's Prosecutors; Wrongful Termination Lawsuits Likely to Follow
    Feb 11 2025
Donald Trump is on his corrupt revenge tour. As NBC News reported, "Trump administration fires DOJ officials who worked on criminal investigations of the president." And just a few blocks away from the DOJ, at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, Trump appointed Ed Martin - who has ZERO prosecutorial experience - as the District's top prosecutor. Who is Martin? This from PBS: "D.C.'s new top prosecutor advocated for Jan. 6 rioters and echoed Trump's false 2020 election claims." Soon after he was appointed by Trump, Martin apparently decided a law enforcement priority for the people of DC was to open a review of all prosecutions of Jan. 6th defendants. As the Wall Street Journal reported, "Trump-Appointed Prosecutor Opens Review of Justice Department's Jan. 6 Cases".Glenn discusses the two dangerous, rule-of-law-busting developments. If you're interested in supporting our all-volunteer efforts, you can become a Team Justice patron at: / glennkirschner If you'd like to support us and buy Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Check out Glenn's website at https://glennkirschner.com/Follow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2X aka Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/glennkirschn...TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/glennkirschner2See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

  • After Testifying "There Will Be No Enemies List at the DOJ", AG Pam Bondi Releases Enemies List on Day One!
    Feb 10 2025
Donald Trump is forever whining and complaining about his enemies: Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, Leticia James, and the FBI agents and federal prosecutors who investigated Trump's crimes.Trump's former criminal defense attorney, Pam Bondi, testified during her Senate confirmation hearing that there will be no enemies list at the Department of Justice if she is confirmed as Attorney General.Once confirmed, AG Bondi issue a memo announcing the DOJ will be investigating Trump's enemies: Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, Leticia James, and the FBI agents and federal prosecutors who investigated Trump's crimes.

  • New Attorney General Vows to Have DOJ Go After Trump Foes
    Feb 7 2025
Shortly after being sworn in, Attorney General Pam Bondi published a memo regarding "ending the weaponization of the federal government." The problem is, the priorities in this memo signal the death of the independence of the Department of Justice. DOJ's priorities will shift from focusing on crimes that impact the American people to seeking revenge against Donald Trump's foes. The Bondi memo promises to pursue "Special Counsel Jack Smith and his staff," "Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (and) New York Attorney General Letitia James, and their respective staffs," and those who investigated and prosecuted the crimes committed at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. This obscene pervasion of the rule of law and the independence of the Department of Justice constitutes ACTUAL weaponization of the DOJ. • Federal Workers Unions SUE the Trump Administration
    Feb 6 2025
The federal lawsuits pushing back against the Trump administration's lawlessness are coming fast and furious. After multiple lawsuits were filed by FBI agents, several government employee unions also filed suit seeking an injunction against Donald Trump's attempt to intimidate federal workers into resigning. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sent all federal workers a "Fork in the Road" email, giving them just 9 days to decided whether to resign, telling them little about their benefits or consequences of doing so, and intimating that if they DON'T resign, their jobs might not remain for them in the future. • FBI Agents File 2 Lawsuits Against Trump's DOJ to Prevent Unlawful Firings of Agents
    Feb 5 2025
In what is perhaps one of the most important developments seeking to resist the lawlessness of the Trump administration, FBI agents have filed two lawsuits against Trump's acting Attorney General and against the Department of Justice. The FBI agents are seeking injunctive relief, asking the court to stop Trump's DOJ officials from wrongfully firing the agents who worked on the January 6 and classified document investigations. This development also may help it make more difficult for Trump and his henchmen to plunge the nation into a constitutional crises.
