The province of Alberta in Canada is known mostly for being oil country with farms sprinkled in-between. When I was growing up, I loved to travel off the farm to spend time with my cousins in the city of Edmonton. I would stay at my aunt and uncle’s home, and my cousins and I would roam wherever we wanted to. There was no reason for my aunt and uncle to worry, because after all…Edmonton was a safe place. But the thing is my spooky friends…it wasn’t.

On August 18, 2010; a young mother went missing and her remains were discovered a little over two years later by horseback riders. This was only the start of a living hell for the Tuccaro family.

As a fawn, he learns from his doting mother that there are dangers in our world. As he grows up, he learns that the world is filled with tragedy as well as beauty.

But as we spoke about in previous episodes; Disney doesn’t necessarily come up with their own tales. They love to take existing fairytales or stories, and change them for their audience to be light and fluffy. But the original tale of Bambi is much darker than you would ever expect.

Lighthouses are beacons of light that help ships safely come home, and often they are a lifeline to seafarers caught in the chaos of a violent storm. But sometimes; lighthouses can’t save those at sea. Many sailors, captains, and passengers have died in coastal accidents, pirate attacks, or due to their inability to see the light of these beacons of hope. In addition to this, a lighthouse keeper’s job is one of isolation and uncertainty, as well being a massive responsibility.
