Brian Nance is a combat veteran and a current federal employee with 26 years of service. In addition to his military career, he has a deep passion for photography and videography, which led him to launch his own business, Malted Melanin Photography, in 2024. Erika Nance retired from the military in 2024 after 26 years and now devotes herself to empowering her family as they embark on bold, new adventures together.

Together, they are affectionately known as Team Nance. As they navigate the middle school years with their fourteen-year-old daughter, they have embraced the homeschooling journey, which began when their daughter entered seventh grade. This experience has not only strengthened their family bonds but has also allowed for a broader, more personalized education that includes many topics often not covered in traditional school settings.

Their daughter is enrolled at Sora, a private online middle and high school that offers a structured yet flexible approach to homeschooling.
