• How Fear Impacts Your Health
    Feb 22 2025

Fear let’s talk about it: fear impacts your health in some surprising ways.

Constant fear can make you doubt yourself. But the effects of fear-induced psychological harm don’t stop at the neck. The physiological effects of chronic fear can be just as devastating as the psychological ones.

The effects of fear can be far-reaching and profound, impacting our mental health, physical well-being, and social connections. God has not given us the spirit of 'fear', but of power, love and a sound mind. Let us operate and manifest the gifts given by God, instead of the darkness of the enemy that operates in fear.

Anxiety can trigger depression and other behavioral physical and mental health issues. It is especially hard if you are dealing with other personal, work, relationship, or family-related issues. It is okay to ask for help.

  • 17 Reasons Divorce Rates are rising for those over age 50
    Feb 8 2025

Start delay: 40 seconds - Love and Happiness!

Did you know: Combined research from the U.S. Census, CDC, Pew Research and more sought out to find what drives divorce in the United States. These divorce statistics mentioned show what happens to marriages that end and when and how couples decide to end them. You may be surprised as I was as to reasons given. Just to name a few:

    1. Expansion of lifestyle expectancy
    2. Evolving social norms
    3. Empty nest syndrome
    4. Personal growth
    5. Accepting individualism
    6. Stress and conflict management

I say the only thing we should be divorcing after 50 is attitudes and egos. People who desire to set their own rules for marriage is wrong! They change and break the rules set in place in the middle of the game. Get healing and stay in your covenant relationship.

  • New research is providing insight into how people associate race with gender.
    Feb 1 2025

According to the study it has pointed out that this stereotypical association is weaker in Black women and Asian men. To determine whether a person’s ingroup identity and group status play a factor in such associations, the research team conducted two separate studies. Their research examines whether intersecting racial and gender identities affect people’s perception. Keeping in mind that the participants associated Black people and East Asian people with either masculinity or femininity.

What does this mean: It means these studies demonstrate that the gender content of racial stereotypes has important real-world consequences in shaping of our culture and biases: If there is one thing you need to know about biases, it is that WE all have them.

So, these studies show two things: cultural/personal identity. Meaning Culture, in this context, refers to the beliefs, norms, behaviors, and values that a given group of people deem acceptable. Whereas identity is about knowing what is acceptable and true for yourself. We form a cultural identity when we subconsciously interpret and incorporate signals and biases from the world around us into our own identity so we can belong.

In psychology, it is an established belief that people make associations based on components of a person’s social identity, which includes age, race and gender.

  • Black Girls Cut Too: Self-Harm and Intergenerational Trauma
    Jan 25 2025

Non-suicidal Self-injury/cutting is the term used to explain deliberately harming your own body, like cutting or burning yourself. It is done to cope with emotional traumas, anger, and frustration.
Self-injury/cutting is the act of deliberately hurting yourself. You may carve something on your skin, burn yourself, hit yourself, or pierce your skin with sharp objects.
When talking about childhood trauma and grief, clinicians have really been referring to this as a silent epidemic, and that’s because so many of the mental and behavioral health struggles that we see today are really rooted in traumas and losses. Trauma is the experience of a real or perceived threat to life or bodily injury to a loved one or to themselves, and this causes an overwhelming sense of terror, horror, helplessness and fear. Theses childhood traumas eventually become adult traumas, if they aren't addressed appropriately.
We know relationship challenges are most likely being a trigger for deaths or attempted suicides and self-injury. We continue the stressed need for schools, law enforcement agencies, families and youth to, collaboratively, reverse a spiral of depression, anxiety and other mental disorders that raise suicide risks, and self-harmful behaviors.
Emergency room visits for suicidal thoughts and self-injury are on the rise, with Black girls and LGBTQ youth experiencing record rates of self-injury and death by suicide. Treating self-injury might take time, but it is curable.

Anxiety can trigger depression and other behavioral physical and mental health issues. It is especially hard if you are dealing with other personal, work, relationship, or family-related issues. It is okay to ask for help.

  • Don’t believe the lies of Satan.
    Jan 10 2025

    2 Thessalonians 2:9–12

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sort of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Satan’s first move was to entice the women to doubt God’s Word, and his strategy was to ask by means of the snake, “Has God really said?” (Gen. 3:1). People have been falling for this deception ever since. When they hear one of God’s clear commands, they rationalize that it’s not really what He meant, or it doesn’t apply in their case. When temptation comes, don’t believe Satan’s lies! Sin always has repercussions. Satan is constantly seeking to fill our minds with destructive thoughts—whether fear, worry, insecurity, anxiety, temptation, envy, and others.

It’s too easy for him to manipulate his way into your mind. We've allowed lies to command others to accept our lie and life simply because we don’t think it’s a lie.
You can live your life and lie and accept lies, but can you leave me out of it? We all have to stand before the judgement seat of God. (I believe) I can extend grace to you (without judgement), for you to do you, can you extend the same grace to me, to do me?
