Gilmore To Say: A Gilmore Girls Podcast

By: Tara Llewellyn & Haley McIntosh
  • Summary

  • Oy with the recap podcasts already! Your favorite Gilmore Girls TikTokers, Tara (@tarallew) and Haley (@gilmoregirlygirl), are on opposing teams (Team Jess & Team Logan) but every week they come together to take you beyond the recap to discuss everything Gilmore: from themes and characters to parallels and plot holes and every cup of coffee in between.

Gilmore to Say is a love letter to a show that everyone is still binge-watching almost 24 autumns later. Whether you've watched Gilmore Girls once, every fall, or fall asleep to it every night, Gilmore to Say is for you. Follow along and they’ll lead you to aha moments, disagreements over boyfriends, cry fests about well-written storylines, and unending laughter that sometimes starts before Tara and Haley even introduce themselves.

These girlies have been watching this show since before they were old enough to attend Chilton. Now that they’re approaching Lorelai’s age, they’ve realized they have more to say.

    Feb 4 2025

We’ve talked about Team Jess, Team Logan, even Team D*an. But what about the fraction of Gilmore girls fans wearing Team Marty on their hearts? This week, Tara and Haley finally explore whether or not Marty was a viable love interest for our girl Rory Gilmore. Was Marty set up to be a suitor when he’s introduced to the story? What would a relationship between Marty and Rory have lent to the plot? And how many of you are actually on Team Marty? Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable because Tara and Haley have more to say.

  • Gilmore To Read: Rebecca Ross’s Newsroom Rivals Write Their Way To A Divine Romance
    Jan 30 2025

Hi book besties, Another episode of Gilmore to Read, but for this one---let's time travel to the end of 2023 when I had a conversation with the author of the Reading is Sexy pick for *November 2023* Rebecca Ross!

Rebecca Ross is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows, a duology set during WWI-esque war of the gods following two journalists connected by magical typewriters.

In this episode, Rebecca and I talk about what she writes in her brainstorming journal, why she waited until she was an adult to watch Gilmore girls for the first time, and how her critique partner convinced her the world (and the story of Divine Rivals) needed a Roman C. Kitt POV.

In February, Reading Is Sexy is reading This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan and Where You Read, I Will Follow is continuing Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors!

Be sure to join our Patreon for our spoiler-FULL rewatch, Gilmore Revisited as we start Season 6 and for access to Gilmore To Read book club. Membership is free for book club readers!

  • Dean & Luke, Jess & Chris
    Jan 28 2025

Gilmore Girl Math: Jess = Luke, Logan = Chris, right? RIGHT? But what if Dean = Luke and Jess = Chris? Does that Gilmore girl math…math? Is Dean’s parting line to Luke about them being the “same thing” accurate? Is Christopher’s spontaneous proposal to Lorelai in season one a parallel to Jess’s plea for Rory to run away with him in season four? Is Luke the ultimate “big small town boy”? Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable because Tara and Haley have more to say.

They should have just stuck to tik tok videos

The podcasters don’t actually center episodes on the show. It’s all their opinions based on them both being forever mentally stunted at age 14. One literally is in love with the fictional Logan and can’t actually analyze in an unbiased manner anything with his character on the show. The other just goes on and on about how everything she does or knows is from the fictional Lorelai. Don’t make the mistake of investing in the Patreon because the rewatches are once again centered on their opinions and ways to insert Taylor Swift and “sparkly hearts” into everything. Oh and coffee cup counts because that matters to them for some reason. They should have just stuck to Tik Tok because being a rewatch/discussion podcast requires a level of maturity and unbiased analysis they do not have.
