FIFA World Cup 2022 Preview

  • Summary

  • So it's finally here, 5 months later than usual, the FIFA World Cup of Cognitive Dissonance. The World Cup in Qatar is a troubling one for fans around the world, and an awkward thing to handle for the players, managers and coaches alike.

In this preview for a very strange spectacle, Simon, Josh and Matt take a dive into Gareth Southgate's squad selection, look ahead to the first game against Iran and discuss how possible it is truly enjoy a World Cup at this time of year, with these hosts in charge and the huge list of controversies overshadowing proceedings.

We're expecting a far from smooth ride throughout the tournament and we intend to keep shining a light on all of the darker, grimmer aspects of an event that we should all be able to enjoy guilt-free as fans and participants, but arguably can't.
