  • Northern Echos delves into Gord Downie's solo album, Secret Path, with Patrick Downie and Harriet Visitor from the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. The album is inspired by the story of Chanie Wenjack, a 12-year-old Anishinaabe boy who died escaping Cecilia Jeffrey Residential School. He succumbed to starvation and exposure trying to walk 600km home to his family in Ogoki Post. His story inspired Gord Downie's Secret Path project, which includes 10 poems, 10 songs, a graphic novel, and an animated film.
