  • Prajnaparadha | The Body’s Urges: the Unspoken Roots of Disease Part 2
    Dec 5 2024

What do ejaculation, tears and cough have in common?

Join us for another unfiltered dive into the body's innate intelligence.

In our second exploration of prajnaparadha (crimes against wisdom), Myra unravels more hidden health consequences of suppressing natural urges. When the mind runs the show, the body becomes unconsciously silenced.

This episode speaks about what it means to reconnect to our powerful bodies. Discover the dosha (or life force) imbalances caused by suppressing natural urges, their impact on health, and effective remedies.

    In this episode, we discuss:

    • Emotional suppression (tears and laughter): how does it manifest?
    • The hidden truth about ejaculation, what happens when it's withheld and the difference between men's and women's ejaculation.
    • Moving away from the fear of coughing and sneezing (especially after COVID)
    • Myra's experience with clients suffering from disordered eating and practicing self-induced vomiting. The difference with the need to vomit.
    • Myra's personal experience with the urge to breathe with exertion.
    • Tools to help with letting go of control of the mind.
    • How to follow the body's urge instead of the mind's urges (the stories we make about them).

    Until then...

  • Prajnaparadha | The Body’s Urges: the Unspoken Roots of Disease Part I
    Nov 8 2024

Feeling the urge to understand your body's deepest wisdom? Honor it.

In this first episode of our two-part series on prajnaparadha (crimes against wisdom), we're getting open and candid about those "impolite" bodily functions we often suppress. Myra explores why these natural urges are your body's intelligence at work and how ignoring them hinders your health more than you think.

Most of us aren't aware of the body's natural urges, let alone how often we suppress them. What society deems "proper" or "normal" doesn't necessarily serve our well-being.

Wish to know more about the various natural urges of the body (there are 14 in total), or ready to challenge your social conditioning?

Prepare for some honest talk! Time to let it all out...

    Topics covered:

    • Understanding hunger in comparison to mind cravings.
    • Burping & hiccups: what they're telling you.
    • Why flatulence relates to the balance of our doshas and digestive capacity.
    • Honoring the natural rhythms with sleep and yawning.
    • How and why suppressing natural urges affects your health.

Stay tuned for Part II in December.

This podcast has had a profound impact on my life.

Hale Pule approaches the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga with purity, sweetness, and simplicity. This wisdom I've learned from Myra has awakened me to achieve states of health (mental and physical) beyond anything I've ever dreamed. Anyone will benefit from the information in this podcast: whether you are a yogi wanting to be your highest self, or just somebody who wants to have more comfortable digestion (or if, like me, you are both!). I especially love her soothing and gentle voice. Now even just hearing the intro music puts me in a state of calm and clarity. Namaste, Myra!
