Episode 2: The Games Must Go On, Addressing the Officiating Shortage in Indiana

  • Summary

  • The question in this episode is, "How might we address the officiating shortage from a youth-first perspective?" We start by talking with Levi, a high school athlete from Hammond Central, in Kids Corner. From there, we interview our expert Dr. David Pierce from the Sports Innovation Institute at IUPUI. Finally, we attempt to answer our question with a Big Idea and round out the episode with our INspiration of the month. This episode of Across Indiana with Josh and Janna was produced by Joshua Long, with editing from Janna Bromm. We’d like to thank Levi for Kidz Corner, Dr. David Pierce with the Sports Innovation Institute, Dave Melton at the Gary Post Tribune, Dana Pappas at NFHS for strategic help, and you for listening.  We’d love to hear your big idea, around officiating or other issues affecting Indiana’s Youth OR your moment of INspiration.
