    "And I've never done this in a sort of verbal, like, sort of exemporaneous way. So I'm doing it here now. It's an experiment to play with the language of why someone would love somebody else. Particularly for me, I wanted to share why I love women and why I've loved women my whole life since I was very, very young. And being gay, for me has been such an amazing journey of self discovery but also of discovering others."

    "If other thoughts come in, I push them away, and I just focus on the rooster. I get into that rooster really well. I imagine all angles of the rooster. I fly over it, I go under it. I imagine big, I imagine small. I'm just breathing into that. And I do this for as much time as I have to do it. It might be three minutes, it might be ten minutes."

    "And that's why I live mid city, because I could take advantage of just popping down half an hour and my kayak's waiting for me, and I pop out onto the beautiful sea. And I also could pop downtown and see a show or go over to the Valley and see Friends or go into Hollywood and just get into some trouble."

Spontaneity, pathos, grit, humor

Personal podcasts are really a new thing to experience. I feel like Deborah is giving us a glimpse into her thinking, in a particular moment. Her voice is so authentic. I feel invited to think along with her.
