Daddy, why do men and women race different distances? Is it because boys are better than girls? #internationalwomensday - Kelly Dicks, runner, teacher, podcaster and campaigner for #runequal

  • Summary

  • Tuesday 8th March is International Women's Day. How do I explain to my two daughters why, in 2022, men are seen as more able than women to run a longer distance in cross country?

Kelly Dicks is a very talented runner in Bristol who has campaigned for equal rights for women. Not just for women today, but as a teacher that wants the future generations of women to believe they are equal too. So we used this episode to discuss this challenge and how Kelly and others are seeking to change it.

We also cover Kelly's own running pedigree, her first sub 3 hours effort at London Marathon 2021 and a little bit on the Single Malt Marathoners podcast.

You can find Kelly on Instagram and the Single Malt Marathoners podcast on Instagram and wherever you get your podcasts. Here are the Apple and Spotify links.
