Before healing a paralytic brought to Him by some of his friends, Jesus declared, "Friend, your sins are forgiven." If you've put your faith in Jesus for salvation, you have complete forgiveness in Him. Now, He will use you to share the gospel with others so that He can declare to them the same thing as they respond to Him in faith.

What do we do if we feel invisible in this world? How do we respond to those who feel invisible? In Luke 5, Jesus comes across someone who probably felt invisible, untouchable, and like he was on the outside looking in. Jesus noticed him, pulls him in for an embrace, and gives him a place to belong. He'll do the same thing through us today as He expresses His life through us to reach those on the outside looking in.

Luke 5:12-13... 12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. e When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.

People often use the phrase, "Share the gospel, and if necessary, use words," but when you look at the way Jesus lived during His earthly ministry, He did use words! He met people's needs and shared the good news of the Kingdom of God, and He will do the same through us as He expresses His life through His Church.

Luke 4:43...But he said, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.”

Luke 4:18-19... 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

As we begin our "Life Expressed" Sermon Series on the Gospel of Luke, we look at Luke 1:1-4, where Dr. Luke shares how and why he wrote the Gospel account of Luke. Luke carefully investigated the life of Jesus according to eyewitness accounts and wrote an orderly account that is widely respected for his brilliant writing and accuracy as a historian. Most importantly though, we see how Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

Luke 1:1-4... Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. 3 With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, 4 so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
