A Way: Exploring Nomadic Life

By: Ira Zezir
  • Summary

  • I'm Ira Zezir, (They/Them), a kinky tantric artist on the spectrum and founder of Intimacy Architecture. As a Queer person who advocates for pleasure and the liberation of shame, I have never found it easy to live in the US, especially where I currently reside in Nashville, TN.

However, at this moment in time, I feel it is potentially unsafe and certainly uncomfortable to stay in the States. So I am packing up and mostly selling off everything from my 4 bedroom, 2 bath house to go nomad around Europe and see if it is possible to live somewhere else in the world that is sex-positive and LBGTQ+ friendly.

I am married, we have a Polyamorous relationship, and my husband, Marcin, is a musician with dual citizenship and a very small flat in Krakow, Poland, which has some great advantages like sex work is legal there. Still, only a couple of years ago they were sending women to jail for aiding in abortions.

Is any place truly the land of the free?

I will be documenting the journey of this move, leaving behind all I have built here in Nashville over the last decade and going to countries I have never seen before.

Can I find a way to be away from my homeland and thrive?

"Every beginning is just an ending of a beginning that came before" ~ Ira Zezir

I am in Nashville trying to stay off social media, except for checking the sales on items I have listed on FB marketplace as I begin the process of liquidating all my belongings so I can move out of my house and nomad around Europe.

Time is of the essence as my lease is up on May 1st and I have booked a ticket to fly out to Krakow on April 30th.

Before my plan to nomad took form I had another plan in motion, to do my annual trip to Tulum, Mexico, for a winter break and tantra playtime. So, while I technically have 88 days as of 2/2/25 till I move, I really only have 60 days to get everything together since I'll be in Mexico most of February.

This week is crunch time, may goal is to get a bunch done before I head to Tulum, so I can rest and not stress about what awaits me when I return.

I am not a hoarder, but I am a collector and very sentamental, so there is a lot of grief coming up around letting things go and wanting them to go to homes where they are loved.

The ADHD and Autism I live with are certainly not making the process any easier.
