  • Kamala Plots Her Comeback, Russia & the DHL Disaster, Clintons Still Can't Accept 2016
    Nov 26 2024
Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they unpack Kamala Harris’s plans for a political comeback, heightened tensions with Russia following a cargo plane crash, and Bill Clinton’s tiresome excuses for Hillary’s 2016 loss.

First, they analyze reports that Kamala Harris is eyeing a 2026 California gubernatorial run or another presidential bid in 2028. Jim highlights the crowded field of Democrats for governor and skepticism from national Democrats after Harris’s underwhelming 2024 performance.

Next, they note the crash of a DHL cargo jet in Lithuania. The disaster comes just a few weeks after intelligence officials revealed concerns that Russia was plotting to attack passenger planes and was experimenting with incendiary devices on cargo planes in preparation. Jim suggests this is Putin's way of escalating tensions during a presidential transition.

Finally, they get a kick out of Bill Clinton insisting that the only reason Trump beat Hillary eight years ago was because of then-FBI Director Jim Comey and the lingering Hillary Clinton email investigation. Jim also outlines the depths of Bill's hypocrisy when it comes to Trump and explains why the Clintons will never get over losing in 2016.

  • Trump's Controversial Cabinet Picks, GOP's Tight House Majority, State Dept.'s 'Cry Sessions'
    Nov 25 2024
Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they break down two bad martinis and a crazy one to kick off the week. They dig into two controversial Trump cabinet picks, a razor-thin GOP House majority, and the State Department's taxpayer-funded therapy sessions after Trump’s win.

First, they assess Trump’s latest cabinet picks, praising Russ Vought for Office of Management and Budget and Dr. Marty Makary for the Food and Drug Administration, while expressing major concerns about Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor due to her anti-Right to Work stance and Scott Bessent for Treasury, given his ties to George Soros.

Next, they analyze the very narrow House Republican majority in the coming Congress, with three races still unresolved and three looming GOP vacancies. They explain why this slim margin leaves little room for defections or other unexpected setbacks over the next two years.

Finally, they react to reports of the State Department hosting therapy sessions, including a "cry session," for employees struggling to cope with Trump’s victory—on the taxpayers’ dime. Jim calls for lefties to gain a little perspective on dealing with election results, while Greg suggests clearing out partisan bureaucrats in supposedly neutral roles.

  • Gaetz Closed, Casey Finally Concedes, The UN's Climate Cash Grab
    Nov 22 2024
Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they unpack Matt Gaetz withdrawing his bid for Attorney General and President-Elect Trump choosing Pam Bondi as his new nominee, Sen. Bob Casey's overdue concession, and the UN’s latest attempt to bilk U.S. taxpayers in the name of climate change.

First, they discuss Matt Gaetz stepping aside after multiple GOP senators vowed to oppose his nomination. They also explore Pam Bondi’s record as Florida Attorney General and the potential hurdles in her confirmation process. Plus, they explain why Gaetz’s political future won’t include a Senate or House seat.

Next, they're glad to see Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, Jr. concede his loss to Republican challenger Dave McCormick. But even in this statement, Casey spoke glowingly of election officials in all counties and the legal army he assembled, allegedly to make sure no voters were disenfranchised. Jim and Greg are not impressed but they're glad he's finally hitting the bricks.

Finally, they roll their eyes at the UN’s plan to demand $250 billion from the U.S. and other Western nations for climate change initiatives. Even more absurd, the recipient nations are upset it’s not $1 trillion. Thankfully, this misguided scheme is unlikely to survive past Trump’s inauguration.

Short, sharp and timely

Every day, the 2 commentators pick three news items and rate them as a "good", "bad" or "crazy" martini. You get a short summary of the issue and their response and why they ranked them. Conservative bent but focus is mainly commonsense. Conservatives and liberals get called out. 20 minutes long, published M-F. Lots of fun - give it a try.
