Spiritual things complete themselves in external manifestations. Thus, a spiritual substance without an outward manifestation does not exist. In the same vein, righteousness is externalised by our way of life in the body. Jesus emphasized this principle when He declared that, it's only those whose feet are washed by Him (cleansing through our repentant way of life) who have a part with Him.
