About this listen

New York Times bestselling author Ruth Ware proves that she is the “new Agatha Christie” (Air Mail) with this adrenaline-fueled thriller about a woman in a race to clear her name and find her husband’s murderer.

Hired by companies to break into buildings and hack security systems, Jack and her husband, Gabe, are the best penetration specialists in the business. But after a routine assignment goes horribly wrong, Jack arrives home to find her husband dead. To add to her despair, the police are closing in on their suspect—her.

Suddenly on the run and quickly running out of options, Jack must decide who she can trust as she circles closer to the real killer in this unputdownable and heart-pounding mystery that combines Mr. and Mrs. Smith with The Fugitive from an author whose “propulsive prose keeps readers on the hook and refuses to let anyone off until all has been revealed” (Shelf Awareness).

Disappointing

I enjoy Ruth Ware’s books. This is an exception. Not good. Too many F bombs and the narrator holds the u every time. Weak plot with lots of holes. But my main complaint, the main character is annoying and inconsistent.

Hours and hours or agony

Waaay too much time describing her pain and suffering, and not enough story line. Her self (inner) descriptions were overboard.

Very good story

I thought this was very well written no disappointment in me at all. I stayed up all night Saturday as the story progressed and was up listening until 3am. There are very few writers that perk my interest enough to keep me awake these days. Ruth Ware has always been able to get the same reaction out of me with every book.
This was well worth the time effort and story line. Loved it as usual!

Ruth Ware did it again!

Another phenomenal story by Ruth Ware and I am obsessed with Imogen Church's narration. Twists and turns, I wish it was longer, didn't want it to end! Get this one for sure!

Best thriller I’ve read in months!

Ruth Ware knocks it out of the park with this book. Absolutely gripping from start to finish. The narration brings the story to life and is perfectly executed. This is an incredible read and I cant recommend it enough.

Not My Favorite of Ware’s

I LOVE Ruth Ware and have been eagerly awaiting this new release but it didn’t scratch the itch for me. The technical element was impressive and compelling but the storyline and suspense was very subpar to Ware’s other books.

Boring

With all her shenanigans and non-stop flight and running-around, i almost fell asleep. I wanted to say “get caught already” just to get this story done. Well, can’t stand another minute of this so i jump to the last chapter. I like Ruth Ware’s previous books, but this one is a waste of credit for me. I hope i can return it.
