About this listen
Johnny has a way with the ladies, but will his last date be with death?
For free trips and a fat fee, Johnny Dollar descends into cases of missing money and missing men. But, what can he do when the bodies are walled up, washed up, and fallen down? Story
Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar debuted in 1948 and endured for 14 years as one of the most popular programs of latter day radio drama. In fact, it became the last network drama when it ultimately signed off the air in 1962. An eminently appealing character, Dollar was pragmatic, flirtatious, and sympathetic (to a point) - better at reserving judgment than he was at restraining his impulses. This set brings you the voices of all eight men who took on the role of "America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator" - from the well-known to the obscure.

Story
Shabby and lumbering, with a face like a Norfolk dumpling, Father Brown makes for an improbable super-sleuth. But his innocence is the secret of his success: refusing the scientific method of detection, he adopts instead an approach of simple sympathy, interpreting each crime as a work of art, and each criminal as a man no worse than himself… Here you will find the complete Father Brown stories in the chronological order of their original publication. The Innocence of Father Brown Starts at Chapter 1, The Wisdom of Father Brown Starts at Chapter 13.

Almost a great audio.
Johnny Dollar has become one of my favorite radio shows. Its entertaining and I loved the hard boiled detective stories. Bob Bailey is also a great radio star. My only problem with this audio was what happened during the breaks in the show. Sometimes it's nice to listen to classic radio adds. But on most of radio plays breaks, instead of adds they played boring 3 minute documentaries. The favorite subject of these Education breaks is Americas state flags and the history of every flag of the Union. Anyone who has watched the TV comedy show the Big Bang theory, has probably seen Sheldon's blog Fun With Flags. The radio adds are a lot like the blog, but not at all funny. Now imagine your watching an exciting TV show like The Blacklist and instead of TV adds you get Fun with flags. After a while it will get a little tiring and makes it hard to enjoy your show. I want to be entertained, not educated.

Love Bob Bailey
He is the best one for this show. He does a great job in this role. The type of storyline is not my favorite genre but when I’m in the mood for a five part story, it is fun and relaxing at night.

LOVE LOVE LOVE
I love Boy Bailey's voice and greatly enjoyed all of these stories! It brings to mind what my mother used to put on the radio when we were kids. I LOVE it!

Best of the old time radio detective series.
What did you love best about Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar?
Great collection of short dramatized stories straight from old time radio.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
These short stories are great to fill short periods of time, or back to back.
Any additional comments?
Bring me some more Johnny Dollar please.
