Publisher's summary

When we don’t process the pain, where does it go? What is the purpose of being alive when there’s so much suffering? What does it mean to live and die with dignity in a world utterly opposed to it? Your Wound/My Garden is a collection of poetry written during Covid-19 lockdown. It's an argument for beauty in the face of grief, loss, and chronic pain. This new performance by ALOK utilizes the latest spatial audio technology, enhancing their words with sound art.

Healing for everyone

Alok’s way with words and the emotional depth of their writing is incredible. Alok provides a unique perspective on vulnerability and resilience. I suggest the audiobook because hearing the words with their voice adds an additional layer of depth and reflection. “Your Wound, My Garden” invites us to embrace our wounds as spaces for growth and resilience, finding beauty even in the midst of pain. If you’re drawn to powerful poetry that explores identity, vulnerability, and healing, this book is worth exploring. Alok Vaid-Menon’s words are whispered secrets—raw, vulnerable, and achingly beautiful. Their writing isn’t mere prose; it’s a pilgrimage through pain and resilience.
